Outside of the main summer holiday period (late July - early September) we charge a lower base price for rental of the Villa for two people, and then add a per person per night charge for each guest in addition to two.  This is so that we can offer the Villa for smaller parties and couples at a reasonable rate, and you know you are not paying for extra beds and rooms that you are not using.  In the peak Summer season the Villa is charged at one rate only regardless of the number of people in your travelling party. The extra guest fee payable applies also to children using beds, but not for a baby/toddler using a cot - they are always free of charge - so if booking outside of the main summer season (dates above) please book for the number of adults and the number of children using a bed, but do not include a baby/toddler who will require a cot - please just advise us of the need for a cot/high chair per child.

Villa Susana is set just off the N124 east of Messines. It commands fabulous views to the South and the coast. Located in a very private setting, 3 bedrooms, formal garden, private pool, sun terrace, barbecue. Fully equipped. 20 minutes to the coast, 15 minutes to golf, 20 minutes to shopping. * Pool heating available for 22€ per day

It has two en-suite bedrooms plus one family bathroom for the third bedroom. Enjoy open plan living in a light and airy living space with plenty of room, comfy seating, and a well equipped kitchen. Outside there is a covered seating area for eating and relaxing with a traditional Portuguese barbecue to hand, a sun terrace for private relaxation and a good sized pool, all with stunning views towards the Algarve's beautiful south coast.

Air conditioning is available in two of the three bedrooms - the third bedroom is at the rear of the property and naturally cooler in the summer months.

A fabulous holiday home for family or friends to get together and enjoy the delights of Portugal! A little gem!

Perfect spot

Very comfortable villa in a perfect peaceful spot overlooking miles of orange groves. We loved the privacy & seclusion, the heated pool (a welcome option for an October stay), and the well-equipped kitchen. Excellent communication from/with the owners made it all hassle-free. Beautiful Villa - Calm, peace, relaxation

Fantastic stay, spotlessly clean and great communication from owner. The villa is set in a quiet place, with privacy and calm, with a view for miles across, far into the distance. Wi-fi great, all you need in a very nice 'home from home' quality kitchen. The three of us had a great time. Close drive to 2 x large supermarkets in one direction and beautiful castle town of Silves.

A super villa in an excellent position

Villa Susana is a beautifully presented and maintained property, tucked away so as to give complete privacy but only five minutes or so by car from the Continental Supermarket in Messines. The pool is a joy and I can really recommend the 'heated' option as the water temperature is perfect - simply didn't want or need, to come out!

Beautiful location

We really enjoyed our stay. The property location was great for us. There are markets very nearby and it's a 20-40 minute drive to so many different things in the Algarve region. The view is great of the surrounding orchard fields and they pool is deeper than you might expect. We are very happy with chosing this property for our vacation!

Lovely spacious and well maintained villa in a beautiful quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of the main Algarve resorts. The support from the owners was excellent. Only minor point was that, despite the comprehensive directions, we had some initial difficulty locating it. That said, we are looking forward to booking it again in the near future.

Relaxing break

A great villa made special by the wonderful views for miles around that really helped us to unwind. The outdoor area was perfect for eating and enjoying a barbecue. The pool was great for a family to enjoy and the mixed depths really made for good swimming practice. It is also a nice distance from the property so that those not engaging can still watch what is happening but also relax without the screaming and the splashing! Finally, Alex was a great host and so helpful and responsive to any questions which took all the hassle away. We would definitely recommend.

Had a wonderful 4 day break at Villa Susana! Exactly as advertised and the views did not disappoint! A lovely welcome hamper awaited us on arrival consisting of beer, cheese, ham, butter, bread, milk, eggs and orange juice. Bed linen and towels provided, including pool towels. Also don’t miss out on the roof terrace for even better views!! All in all, a 5 star stay! Thanks Alex and Richard and family!

Our perfect vacation

Two snowbirds from Canada found the perfect getaway at Villa Susana. Quiet, in a country setting surrounded by orchards and a distant view of the ocean. The villa is all one could ask for - large living area, well equipped kitchen and comfy beds. Alex and Richard are wonderful hosts who attended to any and all of our requests immediately. We had a car so access to all the Algarve was easy and accessible. Loved every moment.

Lovely Villa with views

The villa was very clean and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The swimming pool was a great size and enjoyed by all the family. Excellent views from both the patio area and the roof. Good supermarket in the nearby town and only about 30 minute drive from the coast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the owners really made you feel welcome.

Solitude and oranges

Had a nice weeklong stay at Villa Susana. Alex was an extremely helpful and accommodating host. The property is comfortable and well-equipped for most people’s needs. But the biggest draw is the solitude, and the view. Nothing but wide open spaces, orange groves and bright blue sky. Anyone wanting a quiet location away from the hordes on the coast, this place is perfect.

Perfect home from home

We spent 6 weeks in Villa Susana from early January and loved every moment - so much so, that we've booked again for the same time next year The house has literally everything you'd need including an electric juicer so that you can have freshly squeezed juice from the oranges sold on the roadside Alex & Richard are perfect hosts and not only arranged for the wifi to be fixed but even upgraded to fibre broadband, so the WiFi now is spot on. They never intruded on our privacy but were always a message away if we needed anything The house is perfectly located 5 mins from an excellent supermarket in Messines and roughly 30 mins to most locations and only an hour to some superb beaches on the west coast. It isn't overlooked and is lovely and peaceful, with gorgeous views over the valley to the coast. Not for anyone who wants to be within walking distance of bars and restaurants but perfect to escape the worst of the British winter, surrounded by lemon and orange groves in peace & quiet. Missing it already and looking forward to next year

lovely family home in a perfect rural setting

We were only here for a short stay of 4 days but we got beautiful weather and were able to make the most of the gorgeous outdoor setting. Stunning views and so peaceful. We wanted to rest and recharge and were able to do that so easily. The villa itself is very spacious with 3 large bathrooms and air con in each bedroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and the Intermarche in SB Messines which is about a 10 min drive away has everything you need. Alex offers a comprehensive folder of information available online before you arrive. Every detail and question is covered. We felt very looked after and tried the restaurants she recommended which were fab. We would return without hesitation.

Lovely vacation in Algarve

We booked the house for 14 days. The price was reasonably. We found the location without any problems, the landlord gave us good directions. Upon arrival late evening, we found fresh bread and food suppplies to get us started, very nice thought and much appreciated the next morning! The house is wonderfull and very well equipped, so that you'll never miss anything in the kitchen. Three well sized bed rooms and three bath rooms gave us alot of space, never feeling crowded. There's a well kept pool and a nice terrace, so you will have no trouble just spending days at the house. The location was perfect for us, a lot of privacy but still in a good driving distance, when doing excursions. Unfortunately, we had a lot of troubles with the internet being extremely unstable, so we had to use our phones for hotspots. Bear that in mind, if you rely on good connection (work), like we did. Overall a very pleasant stay, fullfilling our need for a real summer vacation after COVID-19 lock down! Thank you Alex!

The perfect country getaway in Algarve

We were looking for a country house in the northern part of Algarve away from the touristy areas and found Villa Susana to fit all our needs. The location, the layout of the house and the overall decor were perfect. The pool and the amazing view made being outside so enjoyable we never wanted to leave! Magical setting

We had a lovely time staying at Villa Susana. It's in such a peaceful spot with gorgeous views as far as the eye can see. The garden is full of aromatic herbs, trees and flowers, and makes you feel somehow at home. The villa itself is really spacious and comfortable and the pool is wonderful. We had a great time exploring the towns to the east as far as Olhao and Tavira as well as all the beaches nearby including the beautiful Praia Do Camilo. The villa is ideally situated so as to be half an hour from the best beaches, and an hour or so in every direction to explore the rest of the Algarve. We look forward to coming back in the near future.

Beautiful Countryside Villa

Our family of 6 adults stayed at Villa Susana the last week of September and we had a wonderful vacation! The villa is as beautiful as the photos portray. It was very clean, spacious, well maintained and had everything you could want in a home away from home. The pool was a great size, very clean and was enjoyed by all after a long day of sightseeing. The lovely grounds, the gorgeous view and the quiet countryside made for a spectacular stay! We enjoyed many meals on the terrace and having the barbecue was an added bonus. Special thanks Alex for the welcoming gift of cheese, milk, bread etc.. as it was much appreciated after a long day of travel from Canada The town of Silves was just 15 minutes away and had everything we needed. The location was great for travelling to the beaches and towns of the Algarve . We enjoyed a delightful evening and a wonderful meal at Restaurante O Guerreiro located just a minute down the street from the villa. The salmon was delicious! For a special evening on an outdoor patio under a canopy of trees and white lights Restaurante O Barradas in Silves was fantastic. Thanks Alex and family for sharing your beautiful countryside villa with our family! We will certainly recommend it to any family and friends travelling to Portugal.
