My husband and I visited Iceland for 3 weeks and stayed in Siggi and Nanna's VRBO. They were very kind and helpful during our stay. They made recommendations of restaurants, museums, and the Geothermal Exhibit is not to be missed! They were a wealth of information. They even knocked on our door one evening when the Aurora Borealis was very clearly visible (with the naked eye) from the property which was one of the highlights of the trip. The apartment was very clean and comfortable for our 3 week stay. The washer and dryer were easy to figure out, and there were instructions posted. There was also a large drying rack if you didn't want to use the dryer. The kitchen was great for preparing breakfast and some dinners. There is a Nespresso type coffeemaker with pods, and a French Press. The neighborhood is very quiet, but close to downtown Reykjavik. The drive from their apartment into the heart of Reykjavik was 10 minutes. We did use the car (which still had snow tires, and a spare tire) that was provided with the rental, and it was very reliable and fit perfectly in the parking garages we used in Reykjavik which are very small and tight. The apartment was close to lots of museums and restaurants in downtown, and Costco is not very far away, about 20 minute drive. We used the apartment as a base and took day tours out of Reykjavik. It was unusually snowy and windy weather while we were there, so we were glad we did not have to drive great distances during the bad weather.
