Family time in the Dordogne

Perfect location for our week long gathering with friends and family. We stayed in home #2 and #3 and had room to spread out and come together in the dining room area that joined the 2 buildings.

Perfect break near Sarlat

We were a group of 3 families staying for a week in the Dordogne and this was the perfect place. Lots of space, beautiful views, well equipped, perfect location. The kids loved the pool, table football, ping pong and boules at the property. Adults loved the views, relaxing areas and good food at the dining table with panoramic views! Nearby, Sarlat de Canada is a beautiful historic town, caves to the west, castles, rivers to canoe or swim in, and a lovely lake with inflatables 5 minutes away. Our lovely host meet us on arrival, explained everything, and bid us farewell on departure. A perfect holiday - thank you!

Beautiful location, beautiful property.

3 families with young kids. This was our second stay and and both were outstanding. The hosts have thought of almost everything to make the stay as easy as possible. Kitchens arent huge but are very well equipped to cook proper meals. The whole 0lace is immaculately clean. Views are incredible, there is a surprising amount to do within 30 mins drive considering how remote it feels. Would love to come again.

The Perfect Country Retreat

From the moment we arrived at Les Terraces, it was clear that the photos and descriptions in the listing hardly do the property justice. We had a group of 10 adults for 10 days. All were comfortable, not on top of each other, and able to gather together each night for drinks and dinner in the shared space between the two houses. It is 20 minutes to Sarlat-la-CanĂ©da, 25 to Les Eyzies, and 30 to Domme. It’s incredibly peaceful and restorative—even if you indulge in the local wine in excess :). Viginie was a fabulously gracious host who checked in on us periodically by text to ensure that we were having a great time. She gave us great recommendations on activities and places to eat. I cannot recommend Les Terraces enough.

Group holiday with family and friends

The house is absolutely stunning, the views are incredible and Virginie (owner) was always available and very helpful. The property is remote, so very private, but lots of great day trips within 30 mins drive. The only downside is the lack of a/c. The upstairs bedrooms were a little warm, in the height of summer this may be an issue. We were planning a return trip on the way to the airport, fully recommend!

Les Terraces

Les Terraces is a beautiful property in a lovely location and was a perfect fit for our large family group. Communication with the owners was excellent and they were extremely informative and helpful. The property itself was well suited to our large family group, very spacious and so well equipped. Another family group were staying in the adjacent property and we were able to get together every evening in comfort. The property was very clean with so many facilities both indoor and out and we were fortunate to have been blessed with beautiful weather in which to enjoy the pool. It is well situated to tour the many beautiful towns, Chateaux and caves in the area. Thank you both for a wonderful stay, we hope to visit you again one day in the future. The Higginson's

Lovely week spent at La Malonie. 20.07.2019-27.07.2019.

The property was beautifully designed and plenty big enough for our party of 12. The pool was a perfect size and we had great fun in it. The grounds were very attractively planted, and the villa was nicely situated with beautiful views over the Dordogne countryside.

Gorgeous place and surrounds

Located close to Sarlat (10 mins) and surrounding areas. We stayed with two families, 9 in total, and had plenty of space. Was great to have separate and common areas, the terrace overlooking pool and forest to Marquay was a favourite (we saw deer and boar in the forest). The view is quite spectacular and serene. Virginie was an amazing host and went to extra lengths to assist us, providing fans during an unexpected heat wave and printing travel docs for us. The house remained relatively cool despite temps hitting 35 degrees. Les Malonie was a highlight of our trip and we would definitely stay again for a longer period, 4 days was not enough to explore the area.

Magical setting and lovely house

We had a wonderful stay at Les Terraces de la Malonie. Virginie was there to welcome us despite a late arrival, and the house was beautiful - very tastefully decorated, clean, spacious and well equipped (including very comfy beds!). The pool area and pool itself was clean and nice. We loved the area: beautiful flowers, wheat fields and cuckoos. The runners amongst our group enjoyed the scenic and hilly morning runs to the nearest town, Marquay, to pick up bread and pastries. The location, around 20 mins from Sarlat, meant we were near many of the best sights of the Dordogne - Lascaux, Chateau de Castlenaud, Jardins de Marqueyssac, Roque Gageac. Virginie was on hand and very helpful and welcoming. We were a party of 7 adults and 5 kids aged 4-8 and the set up was perfect - including a shared games room where the children could master table tennis and table football. All in all a magical week - we couldn't have asked for anything more. Highly recommended.

A fantastic family property

We stayed as a family of 14 (8 adults & 6 children) aged between 4 and 79, and this property was suitable for everyone! It felt truly luxurious and we wanted for nothing in our fortnight away. Patrice and Virginie were excellent hosts - nothing was too much trouble and they provide constant support and advice during our stay. We were a family of 7 adults and four children ages 2-5.Everything about the property was first class and no expense had been spared to ensure great luxury. The kids loved the pool and the little ones adopted the tiny children`s pool which was ideal. Nous avons passĂ© un trĂšs bon sĂ©jour au domaine de la Malonie. Le logement est tout Ă  fait conforme au descriptif et bĂ©nĂ©fice d’une vue incroyable ! Nous Ă©tions 13 et trĂšs au large dans les 2 maisons des terrasses. Virginie nous a bien accueilli et a Ă©tĂ© trĂšs arrangeante pour que l’on puisse accĂ©der Ă  la piscine. Le logement est bien Ă©quipĂ© et ne manque Ă  mon sens de rien. Comme le logement regroupe 2 maisons reliĂ©es entre elles par une vĂ©randa, beaucoup de choses sont en double (lave-vaisselle, frigo, four, vaisselle
), ce qui peut ĂȘtre un peu perturbant pour l’organisation. Mais peut aussi ĂȘtre un gros avantage selon les groupes !

Excellent gßte pour un séjour en famille !

Cette proptiĂ©tĂ© est spacieuse mais avec plusieurs salons et de grands espzces extĂšrieurs. Elle est constituĂ©e en fait de deux maisons reliĂ©es par un "pont-salle Ă  manger", avec Ă  la fois de la convivialitĂ© et aussi la possibilitĂ© de s'isoler si besoin. Ce fut parfait pour notre famille de 11 personnes pendant une semaine, oĂč il y avait des petits.... des grands... et des moyens. À PĂąques la piscine n'Ă©tait pas accessible... mais nous avons par contre bĂ©nĂ©ficier d'un bel arbre de JudĂ©e tout en fleur, situĂ© juste en face ! Ah... j'allais oublier : la rĂ©gion est superbe : la belle ville de Sarlat, les grottes environnantes, les chĂąteaux, les promenades la Dordogne, etc. etc.
