The room itself was clean. The restroom doesn’t have any ventilation so a warm shower will fog up the entire room. The visual aesthetics were more exciting than other hotels. It’s located right infront of the park. Everything was walking distance. The exterior of the location wasn’t too nice since the nightlife people leave their trace behind. There was easy access parking. The elevators were not working when we arrive but they promptly fixed it when we left. The communication was fast and easy. Check in was easy, access to enter was easy. Interior was beautiful and exciting. I recommend staying on the second floor because we heard everyone walking around all night for the entire stay. I also recommend bringing your own blankets and pillows for comfort, their blankets are simple sheets and it gets cold at night. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Invisible staffing has its ups and downs. Getting in was definitely an understated adventure/challenge but we also happened to check in on a farmer’s market night and naturally the farmer’s market is right in front of the hotel and parking lot. Overall good spot, but not for the tech-unsavvy.

The property itself was nice. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. It was quiet. The thing I didn’t like is there are no on-site staff. No front desk workers. The information from the hotel called it “invisible service.” Here’s an example. The we were unable to connect to the wi-fi. In the check-in information email, it said if there is trouble with the wi-fi, you should call their internet service provider, and they gave the company name and number. So, I called and the technician was asking me questions I didn’t know the answers to, as if I were an employee of the hotel. I texted the number that was provided for general service requests and received a kind response, but no offer of help. “Try connecting again and hopefully that will work.”

Very nice rooms, very spacious, and clean! Bed was super comfortable and it was quiet at night. There should be a sticker or notice on the door to tell you to lock the room by using the keypad.

First impression was good, though I did think to myself that this was more of a motel setup than a hotel. I was given a room on 2nd flr, across the small bridge from the main building where the conference room and other suites were. It was very spacious, decor is quite modern and nice. Craftmanship with bathroom was subpar at best, but overall ambience was good and had the luxury vibe. The highlight here was the shower, awesome water pressure. Two things that did bother me, and are key factors in my return here. One, when I got there, I got a text saying that I can text/call them for assistance with anything. Cool. It just so happens that our TV cable stopped working (was not late, maybe 8pm). I texted and called the number that welcomed me. Absolute silence, no response at all. I did get a text message back the next morning, though they completely ignored my message, and asked me to rate my first night experience from 1-10. It was quite ironic. I assume there was a technical issue, I don't imagine hotel like this would ignore me, but nevertheless I never was able to get any help from staff. Two, as I mentioned earlier, this room, along with 2 others which seem to have decent looking balconies overlooking the main street, are on a separate building, with the room door exposed to the catwalk. I.e. motel set up. It also happens that these rooms are right above the Fitzgerald's. Loud music (until 9pm) and you can hear the machines (kitchen - fridge, etc.) when trying to sleep.

Hot Room and No AC Here!

Checking in was fine and the room was quiet. When we came back from a warm day of sightseeing the AC did not work. I texted the number I was given and was told the hotel was aware and would have it fixed that night. We asked to move to another room but were discouraged to do so because it is supposed to be noisy. We left for dinner, and the room was still hot and requested to move. The new code did not work and maintenance had to let us in. The new room was quiet. Why did the hotel not want us to move? If the hotel knew about the AC problem, why didn't they work on it before we complained? The woman that we texted with said the hotel would contact us about compensation for the trouble we had. No person from The Winston has contacted us. I advise staying at a different hotel.

Perfectly located in the heart of shopping, dining, and all downtown… even the Wednesday Farmer’s Market! Room was cozy, spacious and many special touches. The no staffed lobby code entry, Honor system, and overall uniqueness made this a great stay! Across the street is a great coffee shop open later than others and endless bakery options close by. Highly recommend !
