I was at floor 4. The rooms have not sound proof at all. You can hear absolutely everything. The swing pool bathrooms (toilets) were very dirty. When I went out, a very nice lady was cleaning the boy’s bathroom though. It was morning, when they open the pool at 10:00am. They should have clean the bathrooms before 10:00am. Cleaning the bathroom at the same time you are opening them for the public brings this kind of bad review on cleanliness. Besides those two things above, everything else was great! Oh, the Chusquerria restaurant at the top of the hotel is excellent! Highly recommend.

Lack of care/not safe

Woke up my first morning there and realized when going to breakfast that the automatic lock on the door was not engaging when shutting the door. Anyone could open it without a key (no way to lock it). I asked to immediately change rooms and I was put in a room with a queen when I had paid for a king. Two more times on the trip I came back from a day out or left to go to breakfast and the door wasn’t locked or wouldn’t lock automatically when shutting it (didn’t need my key to get in). Thankfully no one took my things or came in my room but as a female I did NOT feel safe that their door locks are faulty. Two rooms doing that tells me it’s a problem with their lock system. I’ve stayed at the hotel for 15 years on business trips but it’s time to find a new one that keeps things upgraded and safe. Have to ask to get a fridge in the room (this should be standard). TVs are difficult to use. Also had room service ask to take my card with him because he forgot the machine and he’d bring it back, which I declined and so he had to bring the machine back so I could pay. Overall, there is a lack of care at this hotel than there used to be. Perhaps all these years my door lock also wasn’t working and I’m just now checking and noticing!

I was a bit dosturbed when the waitress asked my family for the breakfast receipt and did not ask the other people who were having breakfast for their's. I saw when the staff were congregating and looked straight at our table which was 7 of us. They should be asking everyone and not singling us out as we are garifunas and African Americans. We do not see that in the United States. This will be my last stay there
