The Alaia is so beautiful! Everyone has access to a balcony from their room (not all are private but no one ever came near the one near my room). The pools are clean and there are stunning views from the rooftop adult only bar and pool! The food is delicious including room service. The staff are so helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They gave amazing recommendations, made reservations on my behalf, and helped me to review my itinerary as a solo traveler for safety. I informed them that it was my birthday, when I arrived there was a birthday cake in the refrigerator and a happy bday display on my bed! The cake was soooo good! I would definitely recommend this property 100%! Rent a golf cart to drive (Luxury, OJ, or Blue Hole are the best) as it is not close to town or other beaches. Taxi’s are expensive!

This is a trip we were looking forward to for months. We Googled best hotel to stay at in Belize and Alaia was listed. Upon our arrival, the hotel was not what we expected. There were ants everywhere in our oceanfront room! The water was brown the last 2 days we were there. The internet/cable kept going out in the room. No sort of compensation or apology. We were told it’s an “Island issue”. This hotel is expensive and definitely not worth the money.

The resort is great. Food is great. Staff helpful and eager to please. Beach is at best disappointing. Very little to do or see on island. The excursion was booked through Expedia, never again.

We stayed in the 1bdrm ocean vista suite and it was lovely. 3 balconies gave us amazing sunrises and sunsets. The servers at the restaurants, around the pools, and bars were really attentive and the greeters in the lobby and lobby staff and concierge were all really helpful with suggestions of where to eat and any questions we had and booking tours. It is not right in town but we rented a golf cart ahead of time for the week that we picked up right across from the tropic air terminal straight from a 15min flight from BZE. Totally seamless and made exploring downtown San Pedro and the island so easy and fun and there is plenty of parking right across from the hotel. You won’t regret staying here and we are already planning our next trip back!

Best accommodations in San Pedro. Would be nice if bars and lounges stayed open later. Just about everything closed by 10pm or 11pm. Also making the pools heated when necessary would be a nice upgrade to the property.
