Quick check in was worried cause of reviews i read after booking but it was great breakfast was hot fresh gest service was nice we checked in really late and didnt have problem didnt seem bothered by all my questions cheacking out was a breeze great for price!

Well, after checking in , my friends and i went to dinner and a show. Upon our return, 1 of my friends slipped and fell in the entrance way. The check in cleck saw as we tuned to see her on the floor. All he did was nod his head and continued to do what he was doing. Never asked if she was ok, and ask if she needed help. Well, I called down to ask for band-aids as we got to our room and notice she had a cut and scraped her face. He said i need to come down and get the bandage. The next morning she was hurting. I went to ask if he had made an incident report, and the young lady said no. No report was made. I just felt the hotel felt no sympathy or consideration for this. Not happy..

Great stay

Clean and spacious, good selection for breakfast, my son made a waffle the shape of Texas. Location was a 10 min walk to river walk and concierge to other points of interest.

The staff are friendly and nice, the breakfast is decent. The room is clean and spacious but bathroom has no lock. The only thing that i don't like is that you can hear the howling sound of the wind outside that sometimes woke me up in the middle of the night, Our room is located on the front side of the building, But overall our stay is good

Marriott gives you a taste of history!

TLDR: Extremely dated building and interiors. You get what you pay for, but Marriott are taking this idiom to the next level with this facility. Staff are great. Step back into time in this old hotel. The carpets look like they're on loan from the Alamo itself. The dingy interior and the ancient smell reminds you that Davie Crockett probably walked these corridors himself some day. The elevator is so slow you experience what movement at geological time scales means. Sea level rise by a millimeter by the time you descend from top floor to ground floor. Step into the gym and you'll notice that Leonidas and his 300 men trained here too as it is quite spartan (a few cardio machines, one bench and one dumb-bell rack). No cleaning wipes, no arrangement for drinking water and limited towels in supply. Breakfast service was acceptable if you showed up early enough in the morning. The place became quite chaotic after 8 AM when most of the guests show up and staff are not able to cope with demand. Quality and variety of the breakfast buffet was ok. The only redeeming feature here is the staff. Eric at the front-desk was extremely helpful, prompt and addressed all issues with a cheerful demeanour. Dear Management, please consider giving this facility a revamp. You made over $500 million in Q3 Operating income alone, surely this business given its prime location and healthy client stream beside the river walk deserves some TLC.

This is one of very few hotels in the area having self parking. The parking lot is not big though. So there is a chance that there is no parking spot for some. There is a public parking right in front of the hotel. I think that is an option if hotel parking lot is full. I was also surprised that there was no charge for parking for my 1 night stay. The hotel is very walkable to river walk - about 3 blocks and 10-15 min walk. Front desk and staff are friendly and professional. The room is pretty spacious and clean. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is ok. It can be chaos in the morning when full. One bad experience was there was a trash pickup down at the parking lot making quite noisy around 5 am in the morning.
