Overall, the home was as described in many ways and we had a memorable stay. A key tip for future guests—follow the guidance about locking up food. While we were home, wildlife visited, including two capuchin monkeys who came right up and observed us before eventually returning to the jungle. It was a unique experience. The beach in front of the home had large swells during our stay, which made for very peaceful nights. People do occasionally park along the road to take in the view, which we didn’t mind—the scenery is beautiful and worth seeing. The caretaker was excellent—very kind, brought us fresh fruit, and shared photos of local wildlife like a tapir and puma. Our main concern was the pool. The listing advertised a private pool within the lanai, but we were told upon arrival it was shared. The lanai is quite small, with only a few chairs, and the pool is more of a shallow dipping pool (only about calf height), making it unrealistic to share between multiple homes. I contacted management and requested the listing be updated to reflect a “shared pool area.”Additionally, there are walkways from homes behind the property that pass underneath the house near the twin bedroom, which affected the sense of privacy.Beautiful location overall, but clearer communication about shared spaces is needed.
