Beautiful Apartment...Not the Best Neighborhood
The apartment is located just a short drive from the airport and is easily located with plenty of outside street parking. It is fully updated with new widows, shutters, tile and wood floor throughout. The furniture is stylish and the beds are very comfortable and each bedroom has an air conditioning unit. The kitchen is small, but totally functional and well stocked with all the necessary tools. The greeting snacks, drinks were a very nice touch as well! Julio arrived to introduce us to the property, answer our questions and point out nearby amenities, and was available by both phone and messaging throughout our stay. This apartment was great for our short stay. Longer stays may be more challenging, with the small fridge, kitchen sink and lack of dishwasher and washer/dryer. We had no problems, but the neighborhood is a little rough based on stares from less than welcoming and noisy neighbors as well as the bar patrons that congregate just down the street, to both the owned and wild dogs that run the neighborhood. Again, we never ran into any problems, but this detracted from the ambience. We would stay here again for short stays, but for anything longer would consider staying further from Ponta Delgada city center and the immediate surrounding environs. The check-in and check-out process was very easy and the owners were flexible with times based on our travel schedule. Thanks again Julio!
