My wife and I stayed at this cabin/lodge with our border collie for our third wedding anniversary in September 2022. I’m a firm believer in honest reviews. So, let’s start off with the good things. If you are looking to unplug from your devices this is the place to do it. You lose cell phone service completely when you are still about 20 miles from the lodge. This cabin and the property that it sits on are absolutely gorgeous. There are multiple rooms, and every room has its own bathroom attached to it. The owners have done a great job making the cabin itself cozy with lots of board games, puzzles, and streaming services available. The drive to get there is beautiful, and there are so many cool places to travel too that are nearby. The Crystal Park where you can dig up naturally formed crystals. The Coolidge Ghost Town. This is probably the coolest ghost town I have ever been too because it hasn’t been historically preserved. You can literally see nature reclaiming this town for herself. Bannack State Park is also close by with its own ghost town although we did not go there. The owner is very responsive to communications and the check in instructions are detailed and accurate. Do heed their warning when they say to fill up your car’s gas tank in Dillion or on I-15. There is no gas for 40 miles in any direction of this cabin. Okay now for the not so good portions of our stay. First, VRBO’s advertising campaign slogan is, “So it’s always just you and your people.” That’s not the case with this property. There is a permanent resident who lives above the cabin. The owner assured me that we would have no contact and that most people don’t even realize that he and his dog are there. And that’s true. The only time we ever knew he was there was when his dog barked at some wildlife in the middle of the night, but our own dog was barking too so no big deal. Also, there is a small one room cabin on this property that is listed separately from the lodge on VRBO. So, you may find yourself sharing the property with others. Second, the house was very well-kept, but I wouldn’t call it clean. All the windows were quite dingy, there were large dust bunnies of dog hair (not from our dog) in areas of the floor. There were also lots of cobwebs in the corners up by the ceiling and down by the floor. The pots and pans in the kitchen were also not as clean as they could be they all had a layer of film on them, so we found ourselves washing the pots and pans both before
