We had an incredible stay at Habitation Cafeiere Samana Beausejour. Didier & Etienne have created a truly magical residence and would highly recommend it for anyone looking to explore Basse Terre. The residence has an authentic family atmosphere. Breakfast was a great start to day especially with the largest tea collection we have ever seen! Didier and Etienne were kind enough to speak English for us but helped us to practice our French where we could. We stayed in The Cottage which had great facilities and felt very private. The plunge pool was great for cooling off and we also used the well equipped outdoor kitchen to cook some fish we built at the local market. The ain infinity pool is spectacular and a great place to watch the sunset. The evening meals felt like meals with old friends and really made are stay feel special. Both Didier and Etienne are skill chefs and we would highly recommend eating at the residence on the nights that they are cooking. We loved their pets who were always pleased to see us. The roads around the island are challenging due to the mountainous terrain and the road up to the residence is no exception. Be sure to hire a powerful car as you may struggle to climb the driveway in a low horsepower compact car. So in summary we loved our stay and plan to return as soon as possible.

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour dans cette habitation. Pour des gens du nord (Québec), le paysage est très dépaysant et luxuriant. La décoration est impeccable et accueillante. Les hôtes sont soucieux de notre confort et font des efforts pour s’adapter à nos besoins. En effet, comme nous sommes végétariens, nos hôtes ont tenté d’adapter leurs menus Table d’Hôte offert au repas du soir pour nous. Comme nous avions une cuisine complète, nous avons préféré cuisiner nos repas la majorité du temps mais l’effort est louable et à été apprécié. Petit bémol, l’accès à l’habitation est difficile. Privilégier les boîtes de vitesse automatique. En effet, la pente de la route pour accéder à l’habitation est très importante et comme il y a un portail fermé à franchir, bonjour les problèmes 😋… D’ailleurs, il faut savoir que les routes du côté des Basse-Terre serpentent des collines et peuvent être dangereuses. À éviter la nuit et comme le soleil se couche tôt, on se retrouve un peu coincé à l’habitation dès le début de soirée.
