Hotel is cape Briton national park so although an older style motel, it is perfectly located and is clean and safe

The WiFi never worked in spite of promises that “a guy would arrive at 5 o’clock who could fix it). So no Internet and then the tv in one of the bedrooms (there was no sitting room) stopped working due to lack of connectivity.

The property is a bit outdated but still offers great amenities. Very nice restaurant and the rooms are just okay. Very pleasant staff.

Our room was in need of a reno - looked like it was pulled from the 1970s. Internet had no bandwidth, the Mountainview view blocked cell service - so not sure if that was all cell service or just Bell Mobility (our provider, as I saw other people using their phones). TV was on the smaller size as to what I find is normal in Motel rooms. On-site restaurant was nice. Good food portions. The size of the restaurant was "large" for the amount of patrons. We were visiting just after busy season, so maybe that was the reason why. Overall, nice halfway point on the Cabot Trail if you use Baddeck as your gateway.

Good location,beautiful area, rooms need upgrades.

The bed was very soft and uncomfortable. A/C was too loud to sleep, luckily able to open windows to a cool rainy evening. A challenge to find power in room to charge devices. Cell service and Wifi very poor.

The motel is located right on the Cabot Trail with the ocean just a short walk away. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had great food at good value, we loved the little patio area to have a drink and unwind from a day on the road.

The grounds were beautiful and the mountain view was great. This was an adequate room. No fridge or microwave. White towels were dingy and grey. Bedspread edging was unravelling. There is a restaurant on the premises that served good food. Staff were friendly.

Bang for buck!

The rooms were dated but I expected it based on it's location. Check-in at the restaurant was ok. The aircon was a bit noisy, uneven floors, wall paper all around... but given that you park outside your room surrounded by open spaces out of Cape Breton Park, I could not fault it. Very good value for money! Will stay again and will stay longer if ever.

We could forgive the peeling walls in the bathroom, the stains on the bedspread, the average quality food in the restaurant. Very limited TV. But we had an awful night's sleep due to the saggy mattress. That is unforgivable! You stop in a motel for a good night's sleep. A good mattress is a "must have" basic requirement. Should have kept driving!
