Poor experience
Unfortunately, this is a negative review.
The check-in was quick enough at the front desk, but the unit was inaccessible due to a dead battery on the door lock. The handyman responded within 15 minutes but admitted he did not receive any information upon dispatch and would have to return with the appropriate tools. The exterior had trash all over and is dangerous to children. My kids hit their heads on eye-level metal stairs with sharp edges and stepped on a discarded thumb tack on the porch. Exterior lighting could have helped the situation.
The interior did not match the description. I booked a two-bedroom and received a studio with a couch bed. I later found out that the lengthy description in the listing describes the situation. The couch bed does not come with any bedding.
The single bathroom in the unit does not come with a door that closes. The door hangs off the hinges at an angle. The toilet in the bathroom is not secured to the floor and will provide immediate feedback upon use.
The television turns off randomly at 10-15 second intervals unless you point the remote away from the TV.
The manager listed on the VRBO site stopped responding after my second call requesting help until the following morning. After three hours of deliberation, I was only able to get in touch with management after calling VRBO directly and explaining all of the issues. VRBO then called the management on my behalf and advocated for a refund. I only received a refund ( at least we'll see in 10 days) for the unused night.
Bottom line: I do not usually complain and can make do with most situations, but this was over the top. I can not recommend this unit until its many issues are resolved or the listing matches the conditions.
