Surprisingly pleasant experience. The building is not new, however it is well maintained, clean and comfortable. Our room was incredibly quiet. Breakfast of eggs, sausage, grits and waffles was excellent. Only negative was the $5 parking fee they tag on unannounced when you check-in. Why?

The hallway had a sulfur/egg smell. The bath water was brown when I filled the tub to wash my child. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all the way or lock. And the room door was stuck at the top so it was extremely loud to open and close. The carpets were dusty in the rooms. The bed was clean, the pool was clean and the breakfast was convenient in the morning. The staff were all very friendly.

The owners add an up charge after the room has already been reserved online. This was the seventh hotel in a row I made reservations through an app while on the road but the first to add an extra charge after the fact. I had even called earlier as a courtesy to say I’d be later checking in and there was no mention of the charge then either. Very shady business practice.

Extra fees and dog hair in an average hotel

Upon arrival we were told that our prepaid check-in would require an additional fee due to having four adults staying in one room. I have never encountered this in the hundreds of hotels we have stayed with. There was dog hair on the bed comforter, on the “clean” towels, and additional dog damage on some of the items in the room.

The property was very clean and smelled clean as well. Check in went smooth. The lady at the front desk was very compassionate about her job and I could very much tell. The breakfast bar had many options. They did have sausage but no bacon. No biggie because everything else made up for the missing bacon. Check out went smooth as well! Will definitely be staying again!

No pool. It was so hot after being in the car for 4 hours we were hoping to let the kids swim. The air conditioner unit made a loud noise when it was running and kept shutting off. The breakfast was ok. The fan in the bathroom was falling off the ceiling. Would not stay there again and would not recommend this place.
