My wife and I had a very enjoyable and peaceful stay. This property was ideal for our needs. It only has 5 bedrooms, so the quiet, friendly, relaxing atmosphere was perfect. The host Elaine was very hospitable and always on hand for our every need. The room was newly decorated to a high standard and had a balcony where we could sit and relax, with a lovely view of the lake and mountains. We didn't stay for an evening meal but our breakfasts were excellent. Plenty of fresh fruit and cereals and a very good cooked breakfast with good local produce. The property borders the lake with seating adjacent to the water for a relaxing rest. The property is a very short walk into the Glenridding, with its shops, pubs and cafe's. Also, a short walk to Glenridding pier where steamers run regularly along the length of Ullswater. It wasn't a real issue but the grounds of the hotel has several old cars, caravans and boats stored which detracts from the pleasant gardens.
