This was our second stay here - the first was six years ago and a great experience. The hotel is now very tired and the service was lacking. Additionally, our family was really looking forward to the pool but on arrival, we were told it was not available for use, due to scheduled repairs/maintenance. Had we known this, we would have considered an alternative hotel, as we had been travelling through a cold Europe Winter and we were looking forward to a swim. The room itself was very old and had a strange and overpowering odour. The wake up call from Mickey is no longer a thing, a little less magic. There were only two towels for a room booked for four, the staff brought some more up after our call to reception. On our second day, we asked for some more shampoo, as we had just one tiny bottle for four people and it was not replenished for the second day. Reception advised that the one bottle is a welcome gift and they don’t provide any more supplies - odd (this is not a cheap hotel). The real deal breaker for us was housekeeping rudely knocking loudly on our last day, prior to check out time. They knocked loudly twice and we advised each time we would be checking out at check out time. The third time they didn’t even knock, they just entered the room (luckily we had the bar across as one of us was in the bathroom). This was so bad, it was not even close to check out time! We complained and were provided breakfast, a kind gesture. Overall, disappointing.
