Our stay was significantly impacted by a long list of issues, despite having appreciation for the home's layout and AvantStay's communication. There are three main categories of problems, with safety and functionality concerns emerging as the most significant issues:A. Immediate & Unresolved Maintenance Issues (as of Oct 6th): Arcade Machine: Broken and was a featured amenity in the listing photos. 1. Dishwasher: Non-functional due to a broken closing latch.2. Gnat and Ant Infestation: Prevalent, particularly in the kitchen and dining area, despite being treated with five plug-in traps. In addition to the gnats, we experienced a periodic infestation of small ants on the kitchen counter.B. Major Safety and Structural Concerns:1. Hazardous Bed Swing: The ceiling lag screws are severely rotted out, posing an immediate risk of head injury and the swing falling.2. Door Handle Integrity: Heavily rusted exterior, ocean-facing door handles, raising security concerns.C.Damage, Disrepair, and Functionality Issues:1. Worn Amenities: The master bedroom mattress is extremely worn and uncomfortable, and the kitchen pots and pans are in severe disrepair.2. Property Damage: Noticed wall damage (chair impressions, scuff marks) and broken decor.3. Functionality: The upstairs toilet runs non-stop, the kitchen faucet hose doesn't retract well, and the Wi-Fi signal is very weak.Despite these numerous issues, the children did enjoy the house, and we found the layout to be nice.
