Cowley Centre (shopping centre) and Cowley Road (lined with restaurants, bars, cafes) are also a 5 minute drive. There is a local newsagent and Aldi supermarket within walking distance.
Our nearby recommendations would include visiting the house that CS Lewis lived in and wrote the Narnia books (with gorgeous nature reserve behind it), taking a stroll through Shotover Country Park or BuryKnowle Park (including kids play area and cafe) and going to see the 'Shark House' (definitely worth a photo).
