Overall always a great stay. Breakfast is a good selection. Location and parking fantastic. Lobby and porch are great for lounging. The showers could use some work, doors barely slide open. I don’t mind all the stairs but be forewarned for narrow staircases. Biggest issue is the sound. Never fails, 5am there are children running laps above any room I’ve stayed in or it sounds like people are moving furniture at 2am.

Room for sleeping

This is more of a boarding house than hotel. Our bathroom was across the hall and had a lock on it so when you got up in the middle of the night you had to remember your code and enter it to get in. Also the bedroom door did not open and close properly and you had to yank it open; again in the middle of the night not the best scenario. Our room on the 4 th floor, glad we are in good shape for the stairs. Bed was king size and very comfortable. It was an okay place to sleep, the price was right and right on the boardwalk so easy access to Asbury Park

Our stay in Room 14 was wonderful for our family of 4. Mom and Dad stayed in the king. Toddler stayed in the queen. Newborn stayed in playard that we tucked in the little alcove by the mini fridge. It was on the top floor but we travel light so the stairs weren’t an issue. The room had great views of the beach and boardwalk. Bernadette was lovely, informative and great at communicating, oftentimes via text message. Check in/out was a breeze. Breakfast in the morning was perfect, and there were board games in the lobby for my toddler to stay occupied with. We would definitely come back!

Great location, needs some TLC.

Our stay at the Beachliner was fine. The location is fantastic with easy access to the boardwalk and Main Street. Parking in front was plentiful. The Hotel itself, however, could benefit from a bit of TLC. The front door was often not closed properly by other guests and left open. There was a lot of chipped paint and water damage. The stairs were incredible narrow and steep with railings too low for most guests to navigate them safely. The communication from staff was excellent and kind. The breakfast was everything you need to start your day. Beds were comfortable and water pressure in the shower was excellent although the temperature could be finicky—expected for any shore house. A little TLC could go a long way at this property.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Junior Suite (room 3)- which features a private balcony with an ocean view. We spent hours staring out at the sea & enjoyed bringing dinner in from a local spot so we were able to make the most of it. Bernadette responded immediately to inquiries and served up a delightful breakfast (the waffles were tasty). The beds (a king & a queen) were comfortable & given that it’s a multi*floor space with multiple units- incredibly quiet. Location is perfect for exploring Ocean Grove & made for an easy walk to Asbury. Sunrise was spectacular. Parked right out front without a problem. Already planning on returning 2x a year and will be sure to book the same room again.

We stayed at the Beachliner Hotel for two nights with our two young kids and had a great experience. The owner lives on site and was incredibly helpful…she sent us a text message at check-in with all the information we needed and even let us know when our room was ready a bit early. She was also available during breakfast each morning and happy to answer any questions. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach and near a boardwalk that’s very dog & kid friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. It wasn’t super spacious, but it was just right for what we needed. We appreciated the attention to detail and the warm, welcoming vibe of the place. We’d definitely stay here again!

What a lovely combination of Victorian charm and new age technology. Spectacular location next to the ocean and a comfortable stroll to great shops and restaurants. While it is not luxurious, the Beachliner is unique in its minimalist approach.
