Extremely Disappointing Stay – Misleading and Unacceptable
I had a terrible experience at this hotel. The room was in awful condition: excessive moisture everywhere, no air conditioning despite the booking clearly stating it was included, and the place was infested with bugs and flies. The towels, pillows, and bed sheets were clearly never cleaned, which made the stay extremely uncomfortable.
We had planned to leave for Horton Plains at 5:00am and arranged with the hotel owner—communicated both in Sinhala by our guide and in English by us—that breakfast would be provided at that time. The owner acknowledged this request. However, nothing was prepared. To make matters worse, all the hotel doors and gates were locked, and we couldn’t even leave the property.
When our guide called the owner to ask why breakfast wasn’t ready, the owner claimed we had said 5:30am instead of 5:00am. This excuse is completely unacceptable, especially since we had clearly communicated the time and received confirmation.
Please do not trust the good reviews of this hotel and avoid booking here.
