Disappointed
The house itself was large and fit our needs-a nice set up for a crowd. The neighborhood was nice. The issue was cleanliness. The house was very musty smelling when we arrived. The counter with the coffee maker was sticky with sugar. One of the bathtubs had hair in it and some hair on the floor in the corners. Rugs needed to be vacuumed. I was informed the vacuum had broken at the last cleaning and one had been ordered.The stairs and what was in the couches was more than a recent lack of a vacuum, especially the steps. They could have used shampooing. We purchased toilet paper and papertowels whille there. The furnishings were basic, which was fine. The living room furniture, however, needed to be replaced. Seats were breaking down and the back of one couch was broken. I emailed about some of the issues and one of the owners reached out after reading them. He was very apologetic, offered to reimburse us for toilet paper, and give a discount for future stays. There was also toiletpaper delivered the following night. I appreciate his thoughts, but will not rent it again when we come back to the area.

1. The space was amazing - very spacious 2. "rough" looking, needs paint, a stale smell - someone has smoked in this property 3. Keypad not working. 4. Communication with owner not timely or responsive although eventually all questions answered. 5. Not very "homey" or "inviting"

Buyer Beware! Save your money. The host should be embarrassed and ashamed.
Our trip was booked in Jan. for a Apr. trip. We contacted the host in Mar. after reading a bad review and were told there was nothing to be concerned about, our reservation was safe. The photos look great through trick photography. This property is unsafe. The furniture is broken, the back stairs are hazardous nonsecured brick pavers and there are no handrails on any outdoor stairs. Upon arrival the mailbox was hanging, the trash cans were overflowing and the grass had not been cut in weeks. Upon entry the floors were sticky, the walls were filthy, the ceiling fans were carpeted with dust. The furniture was broken. The backs of the sofa not even attached and pushed up against the wall. The sofa seats were collapsed with no cushion and a bed even fell apart when sat on. There were no towels, no dishes, no garbage bags, no cleaning supplies. We took photos of everything and contacted the host immediately so that we were not charged for any of the damage. The owner played dumb blaming a poor cleaning company. The dirty floors and fans were the least of our worries. The owner provided towels, a bucket and mop and cleaning solution. I spent two days of our vacation cleaning. The floor had to be mopped three times. There was nothing that could be done with the furniture, so we brought the outdoor furniture inside. The owner promised a partial refund for the inconvenience and has since ghosted us. Very dishonest and disappointing SCAMMERS!!!!

Good overall but some stuff to be aware of…
GENERAL DESCRIPTION If you are looking for a clean house in a quiet neighborhood where a lot of people may stay overnight with good showers and comfortable beds - this definitely works. It is a large — albeit very basic — house that is most definitely a full-time rental property. PROs Very Clean Quiet neighborhood Roku TVs throughout the house — including big screen in the living room Great communication with manager Short 3-5 minute drive to every box store Comfortable beds Great water pressure in the showers Very roomy house over all — big rooms Washer and dryer are full-size and work well Water in house tastes good (I am a bit of a water snob) CONs Broken window/boarded up at front of house (damage from a previous renter — which we were not told about in advance) No landscaping - front and back yards are completely bare compared to neighbor houses No personality — just bare bones with sparse and random decor No hand towels, washcloths or dish towels, just paper towels everywhere. Lighting is all overhead (with no dimmers, just on or off) — so no place to read after dark There are closets in all the bedrooms but no dressers Minimal furniture throughout the house Living room furniture is very uncomfortable Kitchen has very few utensils (but plenty of cups and glasses) Very echo-y house due to a lot of hard floors/walls with very few soft materials to absorb sound

Dirty house, dishonest treatment
This house was dirty and in disrepair, then we were lied to. We arrived 1 hour after the 4 pm check-in to find filthy floors and bathrooms, a bad odor, broken furniture, bedding still on the floor. It was clear no cleaners had come. After being told it would be clean in "just 20-30 more minutes max" it was several hours before the host said we could check in. By then we'd already booked hotel rooms for the night since we were traveling with kids and needed to make sure they had a place to sleep. This ended up costing us hundreds of dollars. The next day it was clear there had been some cleaning, but not enough to deal with the mess. Even after *another* cleaning crew came, we still found what looked like dried vomit on a wall, crumbs and trash in couch cushions, and none of the beds had full sets of sheets -- the only coverings were thin blankets that were stained with yellow spots. Also, furnishings were in terrible shape. One of the couches was broken and seemed unsafe. We decided to find another place. By that point, the host had said we'd be refunded 2 nights. This was the 1st time we'd be offered a refund in writing and get nothing. The 2nd time was days later, when I was told "We will be issuing you a refund." But after weeks with no response to questions and no refund, I called VRBO support and was told the owner "changed their mind." Even after that, we were texted again and told we'd get a 2 night refund, but once again nothing has come through.

Celebration of Life for Husband
This trip was for a Celebration of Life for my husband who passed away a few month prior. The host was amazing and work with us to make this trip a success. The entire family was able to stay together since there was 5 bedrooms. The location was perfect. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the Newport News area. It is centrally located to everything. Keleisha - thank you so much for opening your home to my family in this solemn time .

What a great stay
Old friends 50 plus reuniting for a concert at Hampton Coliseum. House was in great shape. Kitchen is big and plenty of beds. Not to mention 10 minute easy drive to the venue Definitely recommend this location Our host was very communicative and gracious
