Disappointing. Told them our son getting married-gave us okay rooms though low floors and very close views of the AC units. Not on the same floor though requested -- how hard can that be really? The ""coffee service" served in an pretty room but just some paper cups and a thermos-not elevated to the rank of a "coffee service". And it says right on the website starts at 6 but wait they meant 7-both days-they needed an hour to set up the "coffee service" (means fill the thermos) .. maybe? Would not recommend esp. for a special occasion because they will not contribute to any specialness. Spend your money on some other option for yourself that might feel special.

The staff was excellent. There was an issue with our reservation - not sure if it was Expedia or the hotel, but the hotel took every effort and making it right. We had a suite and the rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Older historic hotel, not glitzy, but well maintained and perfect location 2 blocks to Grand Central.

I was very much looking forward to staying here however was concerned about a large amount of green flies in my bathroom that got into my toiletries, were in the shower, just all over. There was no food brought into the room so I had no idea where they were coming from. I was staying only one night and had to exterminate myself before bed when I found them all. I mentioned it to front desk at check out and they said someone would be in touch but I didn't hear back from anyone.

Tolerable for a night, but not luxurious

My first stay at the Renwick. It's a repurposed older building with limited elevators. Lobby is stylish, but rooms are tiny (just room to walk around the bed) and dark, furniture is dated and scuffed and not that comfortable. Desk was too small to be usable. Amenities were minimal. My room looked out on a brick wall a few feet away, which, at least, reduced street noise. The Grand Central neighborhood is convenient for transit but not very lively or secure feeling at night. It was fine for a one night quick stay, but not a place I would want to return to for a longer visit.

From the front desk to the housekeeping crew, everyone was super friendly, courteous, and warm. The gentlemen who helped us with our bags were amazing. We initially had an issue with the air conditioning not working in our room, but a phone call and about 20 minutes later keys were delivered for a new room. Both rooms were clean and well appointed. The bathroom had the usual hand soap and hair dryer, but also included were shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner in dispensers in the shower. Water was hot and clean. There was an iron and ironing board in the armoire along with hangers. The hotel itself is small, but hey it’s NYC! But compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at in the area, the room and bathroom were actually quite spacious. Our group included myself, my wife, and our two kids, and we had plenty of space. New York City has a reputation for being loud, but we heard next to nothing in the room. Location is great! Just a couple blocks from Bryant Park and Grand Central Terminal. It’s in easy walking distance to Times Square and there are tons of great restaurants close by. As far as amenities, this hotel does have a small fitness room and a bar/restaurant that opens for coffee and tea in the morning and for dinner and drinks at night. I never visited myself, but it was usually busy so must be a cool spot. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an artsy, friendly, clean, quiet hotel for a great price.
