The 5th floor smelled like sewage. I had hoped it would get resolved during our stay- but unfortunately it did not. Aside from the smell- the room was clean and the staff very friendly

Was a pretty small room. Even for nyc standards. The bed was pretty rough and the breakfast was literally bagels and toast. You do get what you paid for and the price is pretty good for nyc but I think just pay more for the luxury

We picked the property because of the location and the ratings. But it turned out to be quite underwhelming. The staff was not helpful and basically objected to every request. When asked if ok to use tap water for drinking, the staff seemed confused and mentioned that tap water is not suitable for consumption, without pointing out to any alternative for drinking water. The water jug in the lobby was empty and said it would be refilled in the morning. Also, the rooms were very small vs. how they looked in the photos. The bedsheets and pillow covers had stains on them. Do not recommend this property to anyone. CitizenM pods are probably a better option in this case and also at a lower price point.

Our recent stay at JG Sohotel in New York City was absolutely fantastic. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. The room itself was immaculate, stylishly decorated, spacious for NYC standards, and equipped with all the amenities we needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep after busy days exploring the city. We also appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as quality toiletries. The hotel’s location is unbeatable. Great for a quick trip.

Great location, close to lots of metro stops. Clean and tidy. Anytime I needed a restroom it was only about 15 minutes away from anywhere in Manhattan. The staff is nice and it’s not loud at night.

Basic hote but it was perfect for what I needed - a place to sleep near my daughter’s apartment. Great access to subway - multiple lines. Excellent coffee in lobby. Clean. A little hallway noise at night and exterior noise but it didn’t bother me. I would stay there again

Perfect location and great for couples/solo travel

My partner and I had a wonderful 5 night stay at JG Sohotel. Literally steps away from the Metro Station and located in SoHo, one of Manhattan's gems. The hotel is near Chinatown and Little Italy and within walking distance from dozens of great shops, restaurants, and bars. The hotel room was small, but it was clean, comfortable and relatively up to date. Maybe not ideal for families due to the smaller size. The area is bustling during the day and gets quiet at night. We generally felt safe walking back to the hotel in the late-evening. I highly recommend this hotel for solo travellers and couples who prefer a budget friendly hotel that is centrally located and within walking/public transit distance from all of the great things at NYC has to offer.

I really liked the hotel, but the first night was awful. One of the beds in our room was really uncomfortable. One of the sides had a big dent/whole that you would literally got stuck in. I changed to the other bed and was able to sleep better. The location is very close to a subway stop and has a lot of close options to eat or shop. Will probably stay again. NY is noisy and dirty but the hotel was a nice surprise for a short visit.
