Great stay. Receptionist who checked us in, not very friendly and didn’t really speak to us during it We were put in a very noisy room next to the lift, with a broken safe, also had a shower curtain rather than a screen; the person we spoke to about this was really helpful and arranged us to move rooms. Very helpful. No explanations needed. From this point our stay was perfect and everyone we encountered were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping were fantastic.

The location of the hotel is the best part. Very close to Time Square, Fifth avenue and many cafes and shops. Also we were lucky to have a room on 27th floor facing the Empire State Building so the view was amazing.

The hotel room we were assigned to at the Hilton Garden Inn was so terrible that we had to book a different hotel last minute. The moment we entered the room we noticed that the walls and some of the baseboards were ripped up, pillows looked beat up and flat, duvet and mattress cover had stains, and the mattress was squeaky and clearly poor quality. The room also had a musky smell that was unpleasant. The king size bed was also much smaller than we expected to the point where we thought the front desk gave us the wrong room. When we asked about it, they told us "this is OUR king size bed". We knew that it was not an actual king size bed because we have a king size bed back home. While we are aware that some properties have different standards for bed sizes, the bed we received looked to be between a double and queen size bed - very disappointing. Aside from the size discrepancy, the mattress was such poor quality that I could tell that I would probably end up with back pain if I were to sleep on it. Overall, I would not recommend this property and will not be returning. A truly disappointing, run-down 3 star property that is no where near Hilton standards as someone who has abundant experience with Hilton hotels.
