I liked the staff. We asked for the room to be cleaned one day and it never got cleaned. They only left clean bath towels but no hand towels nor wash clothes. We had to continually ask for different essentials and at one point I had to go to the cart to get the towels, toilet paper and tissue. It seemed there was not enough staff to take care of all the rooms.

The hotel needs to be closed. It’s being managed poorly and only one out of the three elevators were publicly available. The wait time was about 10 minutes to get one. The rooms are tolerable but the ac is not regulating properly. No TV remote was in the room and the outer door slammed each time you leave the room.

Unknown to us at booking, the hotel was under extreme renovations (which were needed) and it was impossible to get an elevator. Our room was musty and extremely damp. The humidity in the room was 70%. The AC did not work properly and it was difficulty maintaining a comfortable temperature. We were approached by Dale who was very nice. He offered a discount for the inconveniences. The other employee who did a great job was Sean and I personally thanked him for listening and his understanding. The hotel does not have a place to relax outside like a courtyard so it made the stay unbearable. I won’t stay again or recommend a stay at this hotel.

The room was clean, but the microwave was not stable and the shower was not hot enough. The bad part was the front desk staff at check in and on the phone. They made customers feel like second-class citizens if they don't have the diamond status of Hilton membership. While other Hilton offers free early check-in for Hilton members, this one does not. If a hotel chain offers membership, the membership shouldn't become an excuse to insult members.

I MUST compliment the phenomenal evening staff at Hilton Garden Inn located at 237 W. 54th Street, NYC. I had an amazing stay as I came to celebrate my 60th birthday. The evening staff which consisted of CHRISTIAN, JADE, SEAN & DESTINEE went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay. To my surprise, these lovely people had a birthday cake and card for me after my dinner at Empire Steak House. Nowadays you don't find too many people who will exceed your expectations and these delightful people did!!! Thank you all for your impeccable customer service- it definitely made my trip to NYC unforgettable! ❤️

The hotel was surrounded in a dirty environment with pungent garbage polluting the air quality everyday. The air conditioner in the rooms were not working, had to change my room 3 times due to the heat. I will not book this hotel or recommend to anyone.
