The only reason I gave this place a 2 versus a 1 was because the location and the parking area were splendid. While there was a ton of construction in the area, we did not allow it to impact our trip.
However, many things did:
1. The washer did not work (no power - no big deal except that my husband needed to wash clothes as he met me there following a business trip and needed to use the washer).
2. The dryer vent was not attached and was venting into the condo.
3. The garbage disposal did not work until just before we left, as we dug a lime out of it from the previous renters.
4. The dishwasher was not attached to the wall and would tip when we had the rack pulled out to load it.
5. There were NO baseboards in the entire unit, and nails were sticking out where the old baseboards used to be. And EVERY wall was scuffed and dirty and in dire need of painting. Not to mention the disgusting hand prints above the headboard (use your imagination). Also, other damage from things being torn off of walls.
6. The shower curtain in one of the bathrooms was moldy.
7. The lights on the adorable patio were mostly all burnt out and a few were broken, leaving jagged glass attached.
8. The door knob in the master bedroom closet was broken and dangling.
9. Elevator broken for over a month (we were made aware of this before our trip and we stayed on the 2nd floor so no big deal, but had to listen to others hoofing it at 2am to the 3rd and 4th floors.)
While I would never worry about one or two of these items, this was a bit excessive. In addition, many of these are basic maintenance and when you are paying over $700 in fees for a 4 night stay (Vacasa $500 and VRBO $216), on top of the rental amount, you don't expect all of these maintenance issues.
We did contact Vacasa more than once and were told that a local agent would contact us. Nothing! Also, VRBO said that it was managed by their partner, Vacasa.
I would want anyone considering this unit to be sure these items have been corrected prior to booking and to be sure that if you are renting from VRBO, that you read carefully about any other "partner" that may not be responsive to your needs.
I truly felt like we took better care of this pace than the owners/property managers are!
