This hotel is like old Hollywood glamour. Very special place. The service was 5 ⭐️ very elegant. There wasn’t anywhere to grab a quick bite within the hotel but lots of places a walk away.

We loved the whole atmosphere, the dusty Grandeur. Its like dipping into a different time. Be aware to dress appropriately for dinner. Most of the guests are Japanese.

This was an amazing base for us in Nara, with 5 start service. Being able to rent e-bikes at the hotel and having the hotel be able to arrange a sightseeing taxi for us were just some of the perks. It is a small walk into town or the park, but all in all very centrally located. Some reviews mentioned road noise, so we stayed in the "new" section, but it is hard to imagine it being noisy anywhere. It is a very peaceful location.

Nara Hotel was all the amazing I hoped it was when I made the reservation. I love that place! Not sure I would make that Trek again from the middle of USA, but I highly recommend for those seeking a traditional Japan stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Beautiful view of the lake. Right next to the ropeway. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff very helpful. Worth getting a room with a private onsen type of bath.

We were told the privilege of VIP afternoon tea lounge access, and ended up paying for the cakes with an excessive price tag which was not even noticeably displayed for the customers. Felt like to be cheated, and VIPs supposed to have access to drinks and snacks provided in the room.

Great time

Beautiful hotel in a great location to explore Nara and Nara Park. Staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Both Japanese and American style. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Bathrooms were new and modern. Bed was comfortable. Overall great stay and we’d go back.

The beautiful Nara Hotel in beautiful Nara

The Nara Hotel far exceeded our expectations. The room was comfortable and spacious. The service was friendly and impeccable. The hotel itself is so interesting and beautiful. The setting couldn't be better. Nestled in a wooded area and yet walking distance to the many sights, restaurants, and natural wildlife (gentle deer all around).

Beautiful old historic hotel

Really nice overnight in this beautiful, historic old hotel, perfectly situated to walk up to the park and Todaiji the following day. Lovely dinner in the main dining room. We stayed in a Japanese-style room with a private Onsen tub. Enjoyed looking at all the old pictures. Loved our stay!

So far it's the best place (out of five) I've stayed in Japan on this trip. Hotel is very comfortable and inviting with interesting history. Rooms are well sized and well designed making out stay really pleasant.
