This appears to be a family run hotel. The folks at the front desk as well as all other non-family employees are way above average nice and friendly. The breakfast was GREAT best biscuits and gravy I have ever had at a hotel and the good make your own waffles 😊. For a lower cost hotel it was clean and neat. We would recommend this to all but our snobbiest friends as a good place to stay if you are coming to the New River Gorge, very centrally located for all the main US Park visitor centers. Travel Tip - Do not miss the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine !!

I liked The location. They had me checked in before I got there and said their system was down. The door to the room was messed up like someone busted parts of it. The bedsheets had dirty spots on it. also

The hotel was up on a hill away from most everything. It was an isolated location and other buildings on the lot were abandoned. Our room was only reasonably clean but the bathroom could have been cleaner. It was quiet and we were able to sleep comfortably.

I realize that this is just a budget friendly hotel but I was really disappointed when getting to the room as it had a musty order, then placed an item on the table in the room and the one leg was already broken to which they were placed right away but then also afterwards when I went to take a shower the curtain rod was barely hanging on in the walls and had to point that out to staff. The staff were very friendly and apologetic but this place is definitely not being taken care of and need some better management. I am not a person to complain but I was very disappointed with the condition of this room and feel it is not worth what I paid for. On the other hand the breakfast was basic but was tasty.

No issues with front desk staff, they were friendly and capable. Outside looked run down, not sure if renovating or not. Room door was difficult to get into, looked like it was broken. Carpet in hallways old and had paint splatter all over from bad paint job on walls. Popping noise all night, not sure if it was refrigerator or not. I should have unplugged it. Room itself was reasonably clean.

There were tons of black hairs all over our bedding and in the bathroom. Some of the furniture wasn't in the best shape, but for the price, the room wasn't bad. The staff at check-in and check-out were very friendly and helpful.

The free breakfast--the 1st morning we couldn't find any plates, the 2nd morning there wasn't any eggs left and there was a female worker walking around talking on her cell and as we walked out I over heard her say that she had to take the egg pan out or it keep burning. So we went to Tudor's for breakfast. This morning we decided not to eat there.

It was my first time staying there this weekend and it was calm and peaceful. The pool and room was amazing. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the parking was good too. I just wish I could have went to the gym but due to remodeling it wasn’t open which was understandable! I’ll definitely be going back to stay.

Service was great. The toilet float needed repair, so the toilet was continuously losing water down the drain. I propped something under the float to raise to a position that would close the valve. I left a note with management. I was surprised there were no tissues in the room, so I had to use my one precious roll of toilet paper

Most issues are just due to the age of the property. Location was good near national park which was reason in the area. But there was no stairs for 50 pound bag on the second level. Tv didn’t work. Air conditioning/heater was so loud it woke me up’s there was general fug of dog from pets they allowed and the breakfast room floor was so slippery it was hard to walk. Will say bed decently comfortable and bathroom appeared as clean as it could be with repeated uses and the price was low for area
