Lovely quiet stay with clean but dated and tired accomodation. Smelled stuffy and of firewood. Great for those that love outdoors and hiking.

Being so close to hiking was incredible. We were able to hike to the Pfeiffer Falls with our 2 kids (6 and 10 years old) without having to drive anywhere. The absolute picturesque place you would want to stay in Big Sur.

We had 2 lodges. One was obviously newly refurbished and the other needed a bit of TLC. It is a lovely place to stay though. The restaurant deck is nice, the reception / lounge is cosy and we liked being in the woodlands. Food was tasty but pretty expensive

The property grounds are just outside a state park, great for walking/hiking. Staff were very friendly, although restaurant service was slow.

Our cabin was fabulous, the in room coffee was sparse and weak and staff is difficult to find to ask for more coffee for our cabin. Not being able to communicate to staff (phone) is a pain in the neck. The front desk staff has NO knowledge about anything in the camp and was not able to answer any questions about anything. We had questions about the campfire talk that takes place at 8:30 pm on Saturday nights and if we could park in the day use area for this event but front desk staff knew nothing about it nor about if the day use parking would be open at that time. Upon arrival on Thursday, there was no parking due to an event happening at the lodge - when we asked if we could park up by the cabins or the pool until check-in we were told we were not allowed to do so.

We really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. The front desk was fantastic! So informative and incredibly nice. The room was nice, it could use a new coat of paint to freshen it up. The only issue I had is the portable AC unit. It was so loud! We would have just left the windows open but the screens were torn and we didn't want bugs in the room. Everything else was great! Would stay again!

The lodge came with 3 passes to the state parks nearby which was a plus so you didn’t have to pay for parking.

Big Sur is beautiful. The Lodge is nice. What I did not care for was the lack of internet in the cabin. Only one bar of connection. Some couldn’t use it. Also the owners only give water for the first night, not subsequent nights. For the price of the lodge, these two services were expected.

Great stay at Big Sur Lodge! The room was convenient for our family of 4 to have space and sleep comfortably. We only had one night, so appreciated the rest located to the park and trails. Free access into the park was a nice touch as well! Restaurant was amazing - both the food and location above the river were great. We enjoyed the rib eye, salmon pasta, and the beet salad. We enjoyed a little river walk after dinner. Will be back!

Great lodging in a state park. Said there was WiFi in our rooms which there was not. Had to hang out at the conference center to get any service. Pool was nice. Restaurant was very slow and out of most things we tried to order.

No telephone nor internet in our room. The front desk is only open from 8am to 8 pm. During closures we need to drive to the Conference Center to call for help, making it extremely inconvenient for us. The employees gave incomplete and sometimes wrong information . 😡

Wonderful time in Deluxe King Cabin!

It was our first time to Big Sur and we had the best experience. Thanks to the hospitality of the Lodge starting with the information on their website and info links they emailed prior to our stay. I am glad I read it so that we took advantage of the free park passes. We stopped in and knew we were early and our room wasn't ready yet for check-in but they offered us a temporary pass and we went to Andrew Molera State Park Beach. Katelynn and those at check in were over and beyond helpful. When we did go back to check-in, I thought I booked a fireplace room but I must not have. They offered one to us but we actually decided to stay in the original room they offered without fireplace, we liked the layout better with a front and back door and back deck. I recommend a room with a back deck. The room was large, clean, and comfortable- I wasn't expecting 4 star but more glamping and my expectations were exceeded. Although, the bed is very firm and the shower area does have some small mold areas, I was still happy with the accommodations inside of a state park and among the redwoods. There was a mini-fridge, a game of clue, and an old school wall heater that worked well. At check-in they also provided an area map, local restaurants, and a list of places to visit. We found this super helpful and visited all of their suggestions. Note: there is a trail from the cabins down to the lodge. Con: the restaurant the night we were there ran out of many menu items with no alternatives.
Group of 4 cabins and designated parking spots right in front
Great room with back door and deck, skylight
bathroom seemed updated, but the shower area seams did have some moldy areas
great to have a mini-fridge
