Water leak ruined stay

There was a water leak from an upstairs a/c unit that had the carpet saturated in the second bedroom. After notifying the property management, we had lost use of the second room with the carpet pulled up and fans and humidifier (water line going into bathtub) so our kids only stayed 2 nights. This issue had been going on well before our stay and no one reported it (not even cleaning people). There were people in and out of the condo and we were very accommodating for the service people to be able to take care of this benefiting the owners and future guests. The property management company was very apologetic and responded to our communication. I feel like we should get refunded a substantial part of what we paid. The 220 refund doesn’t even cover the VRBO fee. If I did the damage, they would make me pay!

Needs updating…bring own blankets

The property was nice…unit 0811 was all the way at the end of the hall, on the opposite side of the trash shoot. The blankets were rough and the pillows did not have pillow cases. Our first night the main pool was occupied by someone’s vomit. The friendly bartender told me it wasn’t her responsibility and that an older, female pool tenant was notified-4 hours ago….😳 we spent the rest of the vacation at the public pool (without gate codes). Upon checkout, i went to get a cart from Down stairs and my 13 year old and 7 year old came down to tell me two men walked into the unit with bags and they didn’t speak English. That will be the last of the our stays at tides.

Amazing!

I did a lot of research to find this gem. It was our first time ever in Destin and we loved this condo!! Listing is exactly how it’s shown, beds are very comfortable and clean. We do advise you to bring a lot of your own items/condiments etc. as the kitchen is abit bare on utensils. We would definitely stay here again and loved the location! Definitely worth it!

One of the Best

This was one of our best vacations. The condo was comfortable for 5 people. Beach and pool were easily assessable. Tiki hut provided good drinks and food. I would like to rent one of the condos that faces the ocean. This one was on the side with just a small view of the ocean and a broad view of parking lots and building roofs. You will hear only air conditioning units from nearby buildings on the patio.

.Pool gate codes rarely worked. .Long walk if on far end. .Nowhere to hang wet towels in bathroom or twin bedroom. Would have been nice to have place to hang robe or towel. .No blanket for pull out couch. Very uncomfortable couch.

Our Beach Stay

We had the best time staying in the Tides. It has two pools, a bar and small restaurant, and direct access to a private beach that’s beautiful! The pictures of our 811 condo were exactly what we got. It was clean and beautiful!

Great trip

This was our first time using this property and also first time with the VRBO. Communications throughout was excellent. Tides 811 was wonderful and has a great view of the Gulf. We would stay again. Only minor issues beyond control of VRBO is that unit in property 3 places down was undergoing a major face lift and so during the day it made it difficult to rest in rented unit and also difficult to lay out by pool. Also we could easily hear noises from up above or below our unit. Other than that it was a wonderful place. We would rent again in this property.

Glad we got to the panhandle finally, Gibson Beach Tentals rock

The ocean, sand, private beach, and condo were great. Even better, having a professional management company: well worth whatever it cost. We will return to the area, we will rent from the management company again (manage a lot of absentee landlord places), we will not rent this particular unit again. Nothing wrong with it, just super annoyed that the owner programmed the nest thermostat not to our liking and gave the manager and us the runaround for two days until admitting they had it locked down and wouldn’t unlock it. To our minds, if we rent a place, we want to be able to set the thermostat, plain and simple, no stories no bs. Lots and lots of units in this and adjoining building always for rent, all about equal, so we’ll come to the same complex, rent from Gibson beach rentals, but not unit 811 at the tides!
