We have stayed at the Mantra before and found it good. The steak was cooked to perfection and the breakfast is good. On our last night (Room 205) had a very old soft mattress. We did not sleep well and having a 5 hour drive the next day was very tiring. Not acceptable

Nice, clean room with modern furnishings. However, with only 1 person at reception resulted in a lengthy wait to check in. Dinner in the hotel restaurant on 7 July was an unpleasant and unsatisfactory experience. After waiting for 40 minutes we finally received our meals. Our main dish was described as seafood (mussels, prawns and fish) with pasta and a Spanish tomato sauce. In reality, it was 90% pasta, 5% mussels, 5% prawns, and NO fish! Not happy Mantra Melbourne Airport.

I liked the closeness to the airport, clean and modern restaurant. Very cLean bedroom, comfortable bed and nice shower. The checkout staff (day shift receptionist) and restaurant was very polite and friendly. The checkin was not a good experience: I checked in at midnight. I paid the room in full online when I booked it, and at check in he (night shift receptionist) charged me an extra $100 bond ….just in case I incurred in any additional expenses? And if I didn’t made any extra expenses it would take 1 week for the money to be returned to my account! When I walked over to my room the hall way was filled with plates from 3 rooms. It stank of leftover food. The next morning when I got up at 9am the plates were still there. When I was in my room after checking in, I called reception to ask about the breakfast buffet… I had another question and he hanged up so quickly I couldn’t ask. So I called back again 3 times and no response. Nice hotel but the night shift staff is unprofessional and unkind.
