Needs improvement

We have stayed at this facility several times over the years because the cost is manageable and our needs are generally well met. There is a need for maintenance and cleaning in the pool area. The bed was a little saggy, so a new mattress would be nice. The saddest thing was how short staffed the restaurant is. The staff worked hard to get everything done in a timely manner but an additional cook and server would have made service a lot faster. It took over an hour to get our breakfast.

Pool was awesome and the family all loved it, warm water, but could use updating. Friendly staff. East check in. Free breakfast was incredible. Hot breakfast we all enjoyed. Room was a good size. We were on the main floor and had a hallway door as well as a door to outside (like a motel). Nice wallpaper and floors, but given the below conditions we wonder if it was lipsticked a bit. There was mold around air conditioner, and had cigarettes, lighter and empty weed gummy bag left behind on top of the jacket hanger area - our towels were left on top of these items. Also toys and items under the bed so that wasn’t cleaned. One bed was new ish the other had many stains. Price was great for a family. Pool awesome. Breakfast awesome. Room cleanliness bad. So we are torn if we’d make a stop there again - if rooms were cleaner it’d be a no brainer.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. The exterior seemed a bit rundown and dated, but the rooms were well appointed and clean. Service at the restaurant was fabulous it has a lovely indoor pool with the waterslide.

With mobility issues it was nice having a suite with parking in front. Not so nice when all the parking was taken leaving me nowhere to park. Room appeared clean upon arrival. Upon closer inspection I realized the duvet was stained and just covered with sheet tucked in on top of it. Headboard shows signs of…. Ahem… heavy use. Fan in bathroom didn’t work. And it showed. Peeling paint and a water damaged door. Telephone in the room but no cords attached for use. Came back late after a grad celebration. As I was standing outside my room door a gentleman in his 40’s came out of a room. He was pushing a child that appeared handicap in a special stroller. He attempted to run into me 3 times as I backed up instead of going around me. He def didn’t look right and his behavior was off. Immediately I felt unsafe. I went in my room and locked the door behind me. Spent a day at the pool. The pictures showed promise of a great place to swim with my niece and nephew. The pool water was shockingly cold. Hot tub was nice. Small, nothing fancy. As I was sitting relaxing my heel got sucked up into a hole. Cover must be missing. Skipped out on breakfast all 3 days so can’t comment. I imagine it was wonderful. Not sure if I just got a crappy room or what. Rooms across the way on the second floor appeared to have 60inch televisions mounted. Mine had a 32 inch. Overall I made it. 3 nights. Would I return? No. Would I bring my family? No

We only stayed one night, but the staff was super helpful and very polite and friendly. We were surprised by a breakfast voucher for the next morning, and the meal was excellent. Staff in the dining area were all very nice and extremely helpful. Overall, it was a most enjoyable experience.

Hotel Looks nice from Expedia photos. Room that I booked was in rough shape. Light switch’s that didn’t work. Bulbs burnt out. TV never worked properly. Charged a $200 deposit they only returned $100 with no explanation. No extra blankets or bed cover. Only one chair in the room and wheels were broken. Zero water pressure. Would not stay again. No follow-up from hotel with invoice or explanation.

The pool and water slide were an amazing feature. The rooms were a tad small but the free breakfast was like no other. It was a full breakfast and lots to choose from as we travelled across Canada, this one had the best breakfast and pool area.

I am giving Clarion a 5 star recommendation due to their cleanliness. I rarely give five stars. I was in Medicine Hat because of my son‘s illness. I was there for three weeks.The hotel is older, but they keep it in excellent condition. The rooms are clean, the pool and hot tub are sparkling clean. The workout room is everything you need! Morning breakfast (complementary) is amazing. Kudos to their chef. The service was exceptional. I thank you,Manika. The hotel is close to the hospital, gas services,live theatre, fast food, excellent restaurants, such as their own, and Rustic Kitchen. All within walking distance. Importantly for me, it was very quiet at night.
