The Spy House es rica en historia y ha sido cuidadosamente actualizada por su propietario. Fue construido en 1890 en el estilo federal y se ha adaptado para la vida moderna con una sala de estar y cocina de concepto abierto.

Cualquier cocinero se sentirá como en casa en la bien equipada cocina comedor. Puedes disfrutar de una comida relajante alrededor de la gran mesa de granja hecha a mano. Encontrará una estufa de gas resistente, electrodomésticos de acero inoxidable y encimeras de granito.

El baño principal cuenta con una bañera vintage con patas y el baño de visitas fue remodelado recientemente. Cada una de las tres habitaciones tiene una cómoda cama de matrimonio.

La casa está situada en Camp Hill, está a menos de diez minutos a pie del centro histórico Harpers Ferry y la estación de tren. No hay inconveniente en estar tan cerca de la acción que incluso en los días más ocupados en el Ferry, permanece tranquilo en Spy House.

Se sospechaba que uno de los antiguos residentes de la casa era un espía de Alemania, investigado y arrestado por el FBI en 1945, y poco después se declaró culpable de los cargos de conspiración para cometer espionaje; de ahí el nombre, Spy House.

Hiking day at Harper's Ferry

3 Collage buddies in our 60's visited Harper's Ferry for an "active" get-together (hiking as it turned out). WE spent 2 nights mid-week and the house was great. Way more than we needed, but would be great for longer stays too. The house is completely as described - beautifully renovated while maintaining the look and feel of a 19th century home. Nice amenities and comfortable accomodations. Pretty close to the old, lower town which made it super-convenient.Jay communicated in a very timely fashion and provided important and useful info.

Great vacation spot!

Our family of 5 enjoyed all the space! With 4 bedrooms our adult kids each had their own room. The renovations throughout the house were done thoughtfully. It was just a short walk to the shops and trail. It also helped that our host was friendly and very easy to reach. Thank you!

The house was excellent. We give it full marks. If we noted problem areas they would have to do with being off season in a tourist town - we had fewer walking-distance dining options than expected. But we did fine driving a few miles. The weekend was a huge success.

Just perfection!

We traveled with a couple who are good friends to celebrate my upcoming birthday. Visiting Harpers Ferry in the winter was a good decision, because it wasn't crowded yet most everything was open. Breweries and wineries and museums. . . it was a great trip! The home is beautiful and very thoughtfully restored. The owner even won a preservation award for the house and it's richly deserved! The kitchen is well stocked and everything was just comfortable. It was a great place from which to explore the area, and coming back at night was just like coming home. We'll be back! :)

Great stay

I had a wonderful weekend trip here with friends. The house is beautiful, clean, and cozy, and we loved the historic details. The house is well organized and well stocked, including the kitchen, which made it easy to cook meals. The location is amazing—the house is right by downtown. Jay was very communicative and helpful, which we really appreciated. We really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend!

Pristine home, great location

Had a wonderful couple of nights here for a last minute getaway. The house is pristine, exactly as pictured, and in essentially perfect condition. The location is great for walking into town or hiking the trail, and very quiet at night.While we didn't cook, the kitchen is incredibly well-equipped w/ pans, dishes, basic spices, coffee, tea, etc. It would have been comfortable and functional for a much longer stay. The beds are comfy, the linens are great, and the whole space is a great mix of charming old construction w/ very modern/new renovation.The host is very responsive and gracious, and the check-in process was simple. Great to have dedicated parking in Harper's Ferry also.The only thing I'd highlight for anyone considering the property is that the ensuite bathroom doesn't have a door, so it's open to the bedroom. Just something to be aware of when booking.We would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it without reservation.

Spy House in Harpers Ferry

We enjoyed our time in Harpers Ferry very much. We also enjoyed the Spy House. The location was very convenient. The house was roomy, clean, and very comfortable, and had everything we needed. We were especially impressed that the temperature in the house was perfect and stable through our entire stay.

We had a wonderful stay

Jay is a great host. The instruction was very clear. He checked on us if everything was ok. He was extremely responsive. The house was very clean. You can tell the owner made an effort in upgrading and taking care of the details. The location is great close to everything. We especially liked the Kelly farm kitchen which was recommended by Jay. Harper’s Ferry is a hidden gem full of history and beauty. If you don’t want to stay at Quality Inn or any chain hotel 20, 30 minutes away then Jay’s house is the best choice as it’s in the center of the town. We had a wonderful time.

Loved this place!

Wonderful stay. Great location (walkable down into town), three nice and comparable bedrooms so no one had to argue over who got which one (ha ha!), great bathrooms, great kitchen, great communication with host (although we had no issues and didn't need anything). We would absolutely stay here again. Appreciated the board games, too! Thank you!

Amazing home and location

The Spy house was really great. It was so clean, updated and a perfect location. We could easily walk downtown to hiking, shops and restaurants. Jay was very responsive and thorough in giving instructions and suggestions for our trip. The kitchen had everything we needed with a nice table for us to eat and great sitting areas
