Beautiful hotel & a great stay

Lovely period style hotel, short walk into centre, in a very busy part of Manchester. The reception area is beautiful & smelled divine! We arrived early to be told our room was ready which was very pleasing. The reception staff were warm & friendly but didn’t confirm we had breakfast included, so we didn’t know the times & whereabouts. Also, we weren’t offered any information about the amenities of the hotel, (bar times, believe there was a gym too but no info given), which would’ve been good to know. The room was beautiful, spacious & clean, facing inwards onto a court yard so was very quiet which I appreciated. The bed was comfy with plenty of pillows which my husband appreciates. Lovely seating area & a huge full length mirror in the recess to the bathroom. The bathroom was spacious too & with plenty of complimentary toiletries. We’d have liked to have stayed for a drink in the bar but it was extremely busy both times we looked with long queues at the bar. Breakfast was a nice set up, lots of choice, however when we got there, we wanted to sit in the “garden room” but all the tables that weren’t occupied hadn’t been cleared. The buffet breakfast had lots of choice & was well set out, however the hot food wasn’t hot, so a little disappointing. We were in a bit of a rush & the staff were attentive without making them aware of our need to be quick. Overall we enjoyed our stay & would definitely stay here again.

We met at this hotel for a family get reunion. The hotel had lots of areas we could go to and talk in quiet. We could walk to stores or any other restaurant if you chose too. Reunion was a success and would recommend this hotel to all.

Hotel is overall excellent, but the rooms (at least the one I stayed in) were a little pokey and underwhelming for this brand. I like and use Kimpton's a lot, but this was the first time I felt slightly disappointed. The rest of the hotel is otherwise fantastic, especially the bar.

Amazing stay!

Had an amazing stay at the Kimpton in Manchester. Really enjoyed the ‘Social drinks’ hour with complementary wine. Room was clean and spacious with a great hot shower! We love the Refuge bar that is linked with the hotel, which served a lovely breakfast in the morning.

Historical and beautiful buildings

The building is absolutely lovely. The rooms a really big. We were allowed to check in early. The hotel location is really central. Although close to the railway line. So could be a bit noisy. The breakfast was nice and set in a lovely setting. The hotel offered free drinks on a happy hour which was a lovely surprise

Nice place. Foyer is nicer than the rest of the hotel. Flatters to deceive a little. Our room was pleasant enough but needed some work. Some areas around the hotel were a little tatty. Breakfast was great.
