It is a period property with excellent extensive grounds that hosts special occasions so there is a lot to like. Unfortunately the front wall has errowded and is fenced off like a building site and some of the wiring looks Micky Mouse so not so good.

Very dated room condition in the annexe

Whilst I acknowledge the “annexe” is cheaper than the hotel. The room is in poor condition, cracked wall, ceilings, plasterboard holes, stained carpets, TV can’t be seen from the bed as it’s so small in comparison to the room, only saving grace was the bed was ok to sleep in!

This was a really pleasant stay, and the upgrade was a lovely surprise. So close to the lovely town of Malton, and lovely grounds to enjoy!

Nice big room and bathroom, comfy bed , could benefit from Aircon but there was a fan in the room which was nice on a hot weekend secure parking at the main building, nice location for getting to York or Bridlington

Lots of characture in this small hotel. Stayed in the annex which is within the building and satisfactory. Had all that was required for a shrot stay. One drawback during our stay the weather was hot and no air conditioning other than a fan. It would have been nicer to have airconditioning. Also there was limited room for evening dining but plenty venues within 5 minutes in the town.

Long weekend

A long weekend away. Beautiful and very old building. Good history provived about it. We stayed in a superior room and it was huge. Breakfast was very good with good quality ingredients. Staff friendly and very helpful.
