Our room was in the annexe. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout, the bed comfy and the furnishings were of good quality. We were shown to our room by a friendly member of staff, which was a nice touch. The shower was very good, but there was no shelf inside the cubicle for shampoo etc and shelf space inside the bathroom for your own toiletries was very limited. The loo flush was very poor.
The reception was closed on arrival, perhaps understandable for a small establishment, but there was no doorbell (reception is in a separate free standing unit) to ring when it was unstaffed.
As the drawers in the room where quite small and shallow, they would not accommodate winter weight jumpers, so it would have been helpful to have more coat hangers
The room description detailed a “coffee maker”, I’m sorry, but an electric kettle is not a coffee maker. Although the guest house can do little about this, (earplugs were provided), we were woken quite early by traffic noise.
To match other places where we have recently stayed, for the amount paid, we would expect to have a small fridge in the room.
