Overall our stay stay was nice but the check in and check out experiences were awful.
On arrival our “room selection” and wishes were not available. It was our anniversary and the guy in the clerk would only give us a room with a double bed (wonderful start of the trip).
Then the cherry on top was how “they would have the room we wanted” for 900usd extra OR for 600usd if we attended to a breakfast for the time share speech.
Tbh we come all the way from Europe and it is of very bad taste to have this “selling” attitude to the customer. Especially since we had already prepaid everything with Expedia (which we are Gold Members) and since we dont have the ideal customer profile for what the hotel is offering.
I have to add that after leaving the front desk without a room assigned, we received a “magical” phone call telling us that the room we wanted was available.
We did received an upgrade (tbh we always do) but I say “magic” because it was clear they wanted to take advantage of me and my husband.
As for the check out experience. A night before our departure I spoke to a front desk girl who told me since we were Expedia Gold and we could not stay for the “late check out” on our suite, the hotel would provide a “complementary room WITHOUT COST” to freshen up before our flight. To my surprise once we did the check out they had NO IDEA of what I was saying and asked us to pay 80usd for 3 more hours on a hotel room. After some dialogue the room was offered for 40usd
