Worst VRBO experience ever
I highly recommend that you DO NOT rent any property offered by this property's host.
I have been renting thru VRBO and the other major rental company for 15+ years. I have rented more than 25 properties in that time frame. This was by far the worst experience, which boiled down to one thing; the host was highly negligent in how he dealt with this situation.
Six days before our stay, I hadn't heard from the host. When I found the property no longer listed on VRBO, I got concerned. I initiated contact. This started a 5-day high anxiety experience, beginning with his extremely poor communication. We didn't stay in this property. The host told me there was an issue with the property and it was no longer available. I had to find out through VRBO, not the host, why it wasn't available. The host then offered us a 1 bd/1 bth when we had rented a 2 bd/2 bth. He then offered another 2 bd/2 bth but not for the full 4 nights we had reserved, but for only three nights and did not offer to refund for that missing night. After about 8 calls with VRBO we finally had a three-way conference call where the host relented and agreed to the one-night refund. I asked for basic info about the replacement property, including a link to the property. I received partial info about the property but never got a link in order to view the property. The property he moved us to was disgusting. I'll just mention one of the problems; the master shower was loaded with mold.
