Conveniently located. Friendly staff.

Conveniently located near the British Museum and Buckingham palace. Walkable to most points of interest in London (even Sherlock Holmes residence). The hotel staff were kind and friendly. Check in and check out were both quick processes.

Very old room (westwing), old and dirty carpets, very noisy (loud whistling sound) very, very early in the morning probably due to old infrastructure and people taking showers. Always the exact same selection for breakfast. Most of the lifts were not working. Very friendly staff.

The shower/tub did not drain. The tub side was very high. The elevators were slow or did not work. Staff and breakfast were great. The maintenance worker took us down on the the employee elevator d/t malfunctioning elevator after standing and waiting for 10 minutes. Proximity to the tube station was very good. It was about half a block away.

This was our second time at Metropole. We love how convenient it is to the tube and Paddington. Only downfall is that it probably has the slowest lifts in all of London. Probably need to leave an extra 10 minutes early because it sometimes takes that long to catch the lift, particularly in the morning.

Family break

Nice hotel, good breakfast but very busy. 3 lifts went off when we were there and there was not a designated stairwell lead to the ground floor. Staff were under trained and unhelpful during this period. Thanks goodness there wasn’t an emergency

Booking an executive suite and coming into a dirty bathroom with hair on the floor and the robes is disgusting. There were no complimentary snacks and the coffee machine didn’t work, they changed my room and the changed room wasn’t impressive at all especially cleaning standards. Towels were not clean

Great location, large room

Location was amazing, easy to get to public transportation and walk around town. Hotel rooms were nice, large and comfortable with a full-sized sofa bed, giving our family of five plenty of space to spread out. The hotel bar was busy each night, but we still enjoyed a nigh cap. Service was a little slow on a weekend night when we asked for bedding for the sofa, but not a huge deal. Something to note is the hotel might have "guests" who just stay around the common areas or even up on our floor just squatting around the elevators all day.
