The good: Elizabeth is very responsive. There are amenities for younger children (toddler dishes, high chair, & pack & play) and a plethora of kids toys and books. Location is an easy 20-30mins drive from the main Hocking Hills sites. Lastly, the housekeeper, Stacey, is located very close, very nice/personable, and was able to come assist us with some of our needs (Wi-Fi issues and bug problems) within minutes.
The bad: Due to the lack of weather stripping on the exterior doors, there were an abundance of insects (primarily flies) that came into the house. The first night we killed about 15-20 flies. Yes, the property is located in the woods and bugs are expected but this was another level. Note: Elizabeth & Stacey did respond and added temporary weather stripping and gave us a bottle of Raid, although we did not use due to little ones.
There was room for improvement on the cleanliness of the house. Example, dead insects on the majority of the window sills and on the carpet, and noticed the sheets were not all clean. Specifically, my daughter pulled back the sheets on the top bunk and found a couple of dead bugs and a dirty sock.
Lastly several safety issues: the sliding barn door on the kids room has no safety feature preventing it from being knocked off the rail. The balcony has some safety concerns with how it is built/supported. Also, a small child could slip through the the 6” spaced guard rail columns.
Overall a good vacation and made some wonderful memories
