Aubeterre-sur-Dronne, is one of the most beautiful villages in France, located on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostella.

This medieval town is strategically located on a rock above the river Dronne. The charming wooden balconies of the old stone houses and the maze of small streets, enhance the picturesque character of this village.

Located just outside the village in the fringe community of Laprade, this modern house has wide views and a quiet location
A huge chalk cliff houses Europe's largest underground church. Carved out during the Middle Ages, the church (Saint Jean, 11 th century) is no less than 20 metres high. Apart from this underground church, above ground, there is the collegiate church of Saint Jaques, and numerous chapels and monasteries.

The surroundings are wonderful with rugged cliffs, deep valleys and lovely villages

Beautiful place on outskirts of Auburterre Sue Dronne

We stayed for a family holiday as 3 couples and 1 baby, to attend a wedding in the area. The place is lovely, well set up for a family including a well stocked kitchen (including oven, microwave, tupperwares, high chair), 3 bedrooms (all en suite, + travel cot) large communal spaces and an amazing garden and pool, family bathroom with a bathtub for children. There’s lots of bedding and towels available. The location is stunning and walking distance to one of the most beautiful villages. We felt very comfortable and had most things we needed. Only feedback would be that we were not able to use the upstairs bedroom as there was a problem with ants and ants on the bed; I understand this is an ongoing issue and attempts have been made to rectify it, but it resulted in one couple having to sleep on the sofa beds. We also were not permitted to use the BBQ which is a shame as it was listed in the property facilities and welcome book. Other than this we had a great stay. Thank you

Lovely property in stunning surrounds

The property was very well appointed with everything we needed for our stay. The pool was lovely and cold in the scorching heat. It was a shame we were not allowed to use the BBQ.
