Simple hotel near la passe. Boat jetty

Front staff. Very nice! Electricity goes out during day but that is not hotel fault. Most of island thaf way.. Wifi poor in room and shuts off completely at night. No tv in room too. If you want to be without technology then it is fine. Come to la digue for peace anyhow! Rooms are basic but clean and quiet. 3 stars

We really enjoyed our stay at Bamboo Chalets. We stayed in a superior room, which was spacious and perfectly clean, so was the bathroom. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk from the jetty and 2 or 3 minutes by bike but far enough to be quiet at night. You can direcly hire a bike when arriving on the jetty (it's normally 100 rupees a day) and the guy will carry your luggage to the hotel for free. The staff was really kind and the dinner we had one night at the restaurant was really good. Overall we just have fantastic memories of our stay on La Digue.

Nice, quiet location and very friendly staff

Bamboo Chalets is in a very good location, close to everything: walking distance from the ferry,in a beautiful peaceful garden. The staff is very friendly, helpful and understanding. I really recommend it if you wish to have a nice stay in La Digue.

Nice place in la digue

Amazing welcome by Maude (host) with drinks, good individual chalets. Everything you are looking in the island, Maude will be the first person to support you. Also there is the wifi which is not available freely across the island. I strongly recommand this place if you have to go to la digue!

Quiet hotel not near the beach

This is a lovely hotel. Although it is not near the beach but not far either. You can rent bicycles from the hotel, which will get you all around the island. The food is good and the staff very helpful. Only bit to get used to are the hard beds (I never did).

Very nice hotel for relaxing

The hotel is slightly far (not really very far, but if you have to carry your luggage with you and walk from the pier to the hotel on foot, it could be a bit of work). Having that said, it's not a really big problem once you get to the hotel as you can rent a bike there and then distance doesn't mean much. Very nice room and hote environment. I recommend it.

Dig La Digue

The Bamboo Chalet was a super place to stay {once I had got over the disappointment of NOT being ON the beach} The chalets are big,clean and well equipped. There are mosquitos so make sure you take mosi spray and coils for the verandah.....if you like to sit out. They do have a restaurant and the food was averagely OK....breakfast was minimal but fine {perfect soft boiled eggs!} Rock hard toast needs a bit of negotiating!! The staff are lovely and will do anything for you.... You need to either walk or cycle to get around La Digue....so rent your bicycle from the chalets as cheaper. It's a 10 minute walk to the crossroads where there are restaurants/shops/the harbour {when you arrive you can walk to the Bamboo Chalets but a bit of a hike if you have much luggage.....costs 100 rupees in a taxi} It's best to take SEY rupees as that's what most places ask for but we did pay in euros at a couple of restaurants. The Fish Trap restaurant is super... especially the prawn cocktail and the calamari! The beaches are gorgeous {not huge} but the sea can be hard to walk into as the coral pieces are a bit sharp....so jelly shoes are a good idea!!! All in all its a very relaxing and super place to stay and chillax...!

Hôtel agréable

Très bon hôtel situé à proximité de la Passe (commerce, restaurant, port, ...). Le chalet supérieur est confortable, agréable, propre, ... La petite terrasse permet de bien profiter du jardin. Les petits déjeuners sont copieux (fruits, œufs, pain, confiture, café ou thé, jus de fruit). Il est également possible de louer des vélos. Par contre, le wifi ne marche pas très bien. Cependant, nous recommandons cet hôtel.

Nice place, terrible breakfast

Hotel is in good location, chalets is great. Good service, very poor breakfast - two raw eggs (brrrr!), bread and water-like coffee... Nice garden with fruit trees and flowers. I enjoy friendship with small red bird who followed me when I had been in my house.
