Fun Retro motel They kept the 1960's vibe and the rooms, shower, water, heater etc were all great. The only complaint I had (and it would be a minor fix) is that there was no security chain on our door inside. We put a chair under the door knob but for a few bucks the hotel could fix that.

Stay away

The staff was friendly but from there everything went downhill. Once arriving to the room we found a stinky dilapidated room. I am sure the place was built at least fifty years ago and has never been updated. Between the appearance and the smell of the place my wife and I left. Later we found a very clean comfortable room in an adjacent city. We booked that hotel for two nights. After sleeping at the new hotel the next morning at 8:00am I went back to the Welch Hotel to see if I could get refunded the second night. I was told no even though we didn’t stay there either night. The reason being they couldn’t refund the deposit was because of the Oktoberfest celebrations in LaCrosse. Which makes no sense because there was a shortage of rooms. There is no way that they should be able to command $350 for a two night reservation regardless of the calendar. I fell prey just beware. Matt Johnson
