We really enjoyed our stay - the staff were excellent and we really loved our suite! The only suggestion is to maintain the carpet a bit better in the hallways - there were stains so didn't give the best impression at first. But our room was very well maintained!

They have very limited breakfast options and you can only have breakfast until 9:00am, they don't clean the rooms everyday, and the front desk staff provides poor customer service. This is the worst hotel I’ve stayed at so far.

We enjoyed our stay at Hauza Kyoto Gojo Karazawa. The location is very convenient, it's just right next to the station. The have couple of popular restaurants around, including MacDonalds. There's only one washing machine and dryer to share, so you may need to consider to bring your dirty clothes to somewhere nearby for the laundry services instead. The room is also spacious that fits 3 luggages too.

Hidden gem! Small modern hotel tucked away in a quiet alley very close to Gojo Station with friendly staff who let us check in at 1PM. Family of 4 with plenty of space (2 beds, retractable bed and sofa bed), separate toilet from shower area. Would not hesitate to book here again if we ever go back to Kyoto.

I chose the bigger room and it was spacious and nice.It came with nice decoration and a lot of shelves. The downside is the laundromat only has one pair of laundry machine, so may have to wait for a long time to take turn to wash clothes. The location is convenient. It is very close to a subway station. Overall it is a good choice to stay.

We stayed in one of the suites. It was great value for money- plenty of space and lots of storage (though no safe in the room). There was a mini fridge and the ability to do some cooking (though we didn’t). It’s right on top of a metro station (Gojo) and there were plenty of places to eat within walking distance- from traditional Japanese to things like a McDonald’s. There’s also a couple of 7-11’s within a 2 minute walk (all important for ATMs and snacks). There’s a massive shrine nearby, too, and it was super easy to go from there to Gion, Nijo, Fushimi Inara and lots of other places. The hotel itself was clean and very very comfortable. There’s a single laundry machine (separate washer and dryer) on site and it was pretty easy to get access- only once was it busy when we needed to do a load. Staff were very friendly and even put our luggage in the room when we had it forwarded from Tokyo, so it was all upstairs for us when we checked in. Really really pleased and would definitely stay there again.

Great location and such nice staff. A few minutes away from Kojo subway station and a bus stop to visit Gion, Kiyomizu, Nishi Honganji, Kyoto station, etc. we loved the suite as it is very spacious with a kitchen. Highly recommend!

Excellent new small hotel that is very family oriented. You can book adjacent room if with older kids. The larger room we got upgraded to has kitchen, a full bath, great space, and look very new. It is only 1 stop away from Kyoto station and can easily take bus or subway (1 min away). Even if you taxi, it's 700+Y to Shinkenshen station. 2 stops of subway, you get to Yasaka shrine, Gion, etc. and less than 1200Y taxi to Kiyomizu Dera. Very walkable (15 min) to Pokemon center, Daimaru, Hands, etc. but away enough to be quiet. (the next door is building something but only day time noise). Overall a very good experience (from my 20+ visit to Kyoto) and will definitely bring family back in future.
