Convenient and great hostess

It was a bit of culture shock at first because if how small the room was. However, we had everything we needed and it was super convenient to the train station.

Hi , I was given 1 hotel, but i guess that was overbooked. later i was given accomadation in another hotel. There the bathroom was really tiny. I have been to many hotels in HK at this budget , but not as tiny room as this. Finally I was given 1 more hotel after couple of days, while the room was a little better, but there wasnt cleaning in the next 3 days i was there. Defnitely my worst HK stay at this budget. There are better rooms, service in this price.

In hotel it is very nice experience. But hotel.com is very worst they said they give extra one day after booking for 10 days. But they lie me. Again don't book for long time period. Because you can got attractive price here after coming to Hong Kong.

Of course, as is common when you book at Chungking Mansions, they'll put you in a different guest house. I booked Beverley Guest House, I stayed in FIRST GUEST HOUSE. Make sure you have a PAPER copy of all the amenities/features that you booked so that you GET all those amenities in whatever place they try to put you in. The room was adequate though only 6 feet wide. It had a window. There was one cockroach in the ~6 days I was there; but, that was sort of my fault because I didn't put the garbage out to be changed for 3 days and there was food waste residue in the garbage for 3 days. Changed the garbage more frequently, no more roaches in room. Good exchange rates for CAD and USD on first floor of Chungking Mansions if you look around--there are several changers. The exchanges closest to the main door are expensive.

Inexpensive and you get what you paid for.

room is tiny, the bed is less than a full size and there is just room to squeeze your feet between the bed and the wall. The price is pretty good, but you get what you pay for. The wait for the elevator can be extremely long (often over 10-15 minutes)

Unlucky experience at Guest house

We have reached the guest house on 23/5/15 morning, but there was hacking work near the staircase till 5.00p.m. It was very noisy and dusty and according to them this will continues for a few days. No doubt we have book two rooms and supposed to checked in at 2.00p.m. but only one room was ready. we will tired, thirsty, cold and it was rainy heavily outside but we cannot rest in the room due to the noise. In fact, we have book double bed for two person but they give us a smaller bed for two person and request us to top up extra for bigger bed. I do not agrees and argued with her. Finally when we came back than she agrees to gives us a bigger room because the tenant had check out. The TV antenna was bad cannot watch due to the hacking work. There is no phone in the room and when the main door was close, we cannot contact each other from the other room. I appeal for compensate for the above inconvenience.

I booked my 2 nieces in this hotel based on the review of fellow travelers. The hotel did not disappoint my expectation. They are very accommodating and they gave my nieces a much bigger room for the same price, thank you! Also they helped my nieces how to get around the area and where to eat. I also want to thank the money changer in the building that helped them with tickets and discounts and of course a very good exchange rate! Thank you guys!

When booking cheap accommodation ,remember not to expect more than you pay for.The room was 15cm wider than the bed and you had to sit on the toilet to shower.No wardrobe .It was clean and the manager was helpfull.

Good for the money

Very good for the price, $31 USD/night. You get what you pay for. Chungking Mansions is centrally located in Kowloon,has a huge variety of restaurants/delis and shops. The lift (elevator) only holds 525 kg, so at rush hour, you may get the third lift up. Bed mattress is rubber and too firm.

bad smell, congested room space.

four days we stayed at the guest room was a nightmare for me and my wife. Mattress was super single size for two of us; toilet bad smell as well as the external toilet window dirty; fan made noise when turn to high speed; air-con malfunction on first day. However, the business owner engaged a technician to repair the air-con on second day.

Incredibly accommodating hostel in great local

From the moment we arrived at Beverly Guest House, we knew that we would have a great experience. The hotel manager greeted us and offered to check us in early and allowed us to upgrade our room size for an extra USD $3 per night. She checked in on us every morning to see if we needed anything, and gave us recommendations on public transit to get to the places we wanted to go. Her english was pretty good and on the last day, she even stored our luggage at no cost since we checked out early Thursday morning and our flight wasn't until 00:50 on Friday morning. Overall we were satisfied with the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the experience surpassed our expectations. Thank you Beverly Guest House for further making our Father-Son spring break trip such a memorable and positive one!
