A Disappointing Experience That Fell Short of Expectations After reading several positive reviews, I arrived at the resort with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience didn’t quite match the praise. On the first day, I headed to the pool area, only to find most of the lounge chairs covered with towels but very few guests actually using them. It was difficult to find a towel, and despite several visits from the waiter to nearby areas, I was overlooked. A similar situation occurred on my return visit, with no pool attendant in sight. After about 30 minutes, I was finally able to locate a staff member who helped me get settled. Once there, I noticed that the palm trees appeared poorly maintained, with dead branches hanging precariously—something that could pose a safety risk. While I appreciated the charm of the roaming roosters, it would have been nice if the grounds were cleaned more frequently to address the mess they leave behind. The biggest letdown, however, was the condition of the pool itself. The bottom was visibly dirty, with large patches of debris, and the pool clock wasn’t functioning—suggesting that upkeep of the area might not be a priority. Overall, while the resort has potential, the lack of attention to detail and maintenance significantly impacted my stay.

It was very underwhelming as a resort. If you are looking for a true resort atmosphere, this is not the place. Beach is tiny and they had a ton of seaweed in the water. The swimming pool is small as well. It is also an older facility, while it was fairly clean, it was definitely old...cracks in the walls of our room.

Location, food, access to beach, and having a piece of Key West history right on property (The Chart Room) were amazing. The front desk staff is very helpful, and the property is also very clean. So many positives! However, the property is dated and could really use a refresh, and our room was very dark. Overall, we had a great stay but not sure it’s worth the price due to the 2 negatives.

My Favorite Relaxing Week

I have stayed here for a week each of the last few years and always look forward to coming back. The beach is very relaxing, the service attentive and the beach bar (and accompanying tunes) is great as always. The spa is terrific too. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and comfortable. Can’t beat the location either. Highly recommend!
