Stool ran all night getting no sleep!!!

The inside is being restored and looks nice, however the employee doesn’t understand English. I called the front desk because the stool would not stoop running after flushing in the middle of the night. He had no idea what the word toilet or still meant so when I couldn’t sleep because of the continuous water running I had to turn the water off. In the morning at checkout I explained again and the front desk employee still did not understand the English words for stool or toilet. Very frustrating to get no rest and to hear fighting outside my window at 2 AM.

Avoid at All Costs – Filthy, Mismanaged, and Deceptive If I could give zero stars, I would. My two-night stay at Baymont by Wyndham Kansas City KU Medical Center was a disaster. This hotel does not prioritize cleanliness, customer service, or maintenance. The front desk staff was dismissive and unprofessional. When I voiced concerns at checkout, I was told that since the hotel is “affordable,” I shouldn’t have expected more—completely unacceptable! The issues were endless: No front desk service – Calls from the room went unanswered or straight to voicemail. Room was never cleaned – No fresh towels, no trash emptied, nothing. I was only told at checkout that cleaning was “by request.” Heating system malfunctioned – It fluctuated between freezing and boiling with no control. Filthy floors – Dirt tracked from the bed to the bathroom. No pillows available – How does a hotel run out of pillows? Shower was disgusting – The head was clogged and grimy, causing inconsistent pressure. Dim bathroom lighting & no desk lamp bulb – When reported, I was told maintenance would “handle it tomorrow.” We were expected to sit in the dark. Strong odor in hallways and room. Broken USB ports & deceptive advertising – The Expedia photos looked nothing like the actual room. We took photos as proof, but the review form didn’t allow uploads. Avoid this place at all costs!

Do not waste your time and money

I was in town for a dog show with my two dogs. I had booked online as rates were reasonable with no pet fees. Upon checkin, I was told there was $20/dog per night that would be added to the bill, but she couldn't tell me what the bill would be. The property is old and rundown. My first room did not have heat. Every afternoon when I returned to my room, my key was deactivated and I had to go to the front desk lugging all my things. There was supposed to be a full continental breakfast, however the waffle maker wouldn't cook the batter fully, and the eggs/sausage container was cold every morning. Milk was warm. My room had wires hanging from the ceiling where the smoke alarm should be and the microwave handle was missing. Trash/glass littered the parking lot and grassy areas where I pottied my dogs. The last night of my stay, "guests" checked in around midnight and began pounding on room doors and yelling loudly. There were burnouts going on outside. The next morning, I found the exterior door propped open with a rock and a person who looked homeless sleeping in the lounge area.

Hotel is adequate, most of the room was clean, but the tub was dirty and gross. Site is noisy, but facility does not have much control of that next to a busy road and other parking lots has people outside and cars that were making noise all night. Site is close and convenient to KU Medicine.
