This condo at Big Canoe was absolutely beautiful! Everything felt brand new and it was super clean! We loved the location and the views were outstanding! The hills were steeper than we had anticipated but we WERE in the mountains so it was fine. We have zero complaints regarding our stay or the community. The rental company however, was not great. We have used VRBO for several stays now and always dealt with the owner. This place is run by a rental company and we felt like it would be even easier, unfortunately it was not. We originally tried to get specific questions answered regarding the golf and it took several times to try and get a specific answer which we did not get, so we just called Big Canoe golf club ourselves. No problem though. We headed out for the 8+ hour drive to the community on our check in day and I realized I still had never received a gate code or house code or any email at all. Check in was at 3pm and as 3pm approached, we used the message feature on VRBO to get a hold of the host / rental company to find out how to check in. NO RESPONSE... We finally googled the company and called the number on the website... the girl that answered was very nice but initially told us we didn't have a reservation! After we told her it was already paid for and that we hadn't received anything at all (communication wise), she checked again and finally found it. She was apologetic and sent us an email with check in info. From there on THANKFULLY everything was fine. Then after getting back home when it was over, we received an email from the rental company with all of the "What to know before you go" check in info! I have no idea why they were so messed up, but despite that, we had a great time! I would hesitate before using the rental company again though.
