The terminal point, Kazusa-Nakano Station, is connected to the Kominato Railway, which runs to Goi Station on the JR Uchibo Line, allowing you to cross the Boso Peninsula by train. Local governments and local residents work together to plant rape blossoms along the railway line, and the best time to see them is usually from mid-February to late March. It is also known as the Nanohana Train, and the rapeseed flowers blooming along the line are spectacular. If you time it right, you might even be able to see pink cherry blossoms and yellow rape blossoms together. ☆Yamada Genji Botaru no Sato The area around the Yamada River in Isumi City is home to many Genji Botaru, so the city has designated this area as the ``Genji Botaru Village''. Fireflies fly around from around 7:30 pm to around 9 pm every year from the end of May to the beginning of June. Fireflies require a certain level of darkness in order to start emitting light. Fireflies do not start glowing all at once. First, one of them starts to glow and the number gradually increases. Most of the fireflies that fly while emitting light are male fireflies, and those nearby blink in synchronization with each other. The most interesting lighting conditions are cloudy, windless, humid nights. ☆Tsutsugaura (Meotoiwa) Isumi City has the ocean to the east and south, and there is little light pollution from city lights, so the conditions are perfect for seeing the stars clearly. Also, since there are no high mountains, the sky is wide and you can enjoy the starry sky all year round. The starry sky seen here is like a natural planetarium. There are sights that you can never see in the city center.Chiba prefecture starry sky photography spot ranking2nd place: Isumi Railway Daini Gonomachi Level Crossing6th place: Tsutsugaura ☆Cape Taito A cape located on the southern end of Kujukuri Beach in Isumi City. It is designated as Minamiboso Quasi-National Park, and Taitosaki Lighthouse stands on the cape. The lighthouse stands on a cape overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Kujukuri Beach, and from its 360-degree panoramic view, you can see rural landscapes spread out in the distance, as well as peaceful greenery. The cape is nicknamed ``Cape Venus of Love,'' befitting the name of the goddess of love and beauty, and the area around the lighthouse is surrounded by green trees, with flowers such as squash lilies and daffodils soothing the visitors. . There is also the Taito East Coast, which is famous as a surf spot. ☆Ohara Coast Ohara Naked Festival The Ohara Naked Festival is a traditional autumn festival that brings together the entire region. It is a magnificent festival held over two days in late September. The highlight of the festival is the ``shiofumi,'' in which more than a dozen mikoshi are carried into the sea at the same time. Bravely and heroically, the mikoshi runs through the sea and is thrown into the air. Then, as dusk approaches, we gather at the Ohara Elementary School playground with the fireworks as the signal, and hold the mikoshi high in the air for the ``big farewell ceremony.'' This festival, where you can fully experience both the passion and kindness of the men of the sea, has many enthusiastic fans and is crowded with visitors every year. Ohara Naked Festival is said to be the best in Kanto. A strong emotion seems to run through my heart. ☆Roadside Station Takegahara no Sato Otaki You can get fresh vegetables picked in the morning, products from Satoyama (bamboo shoots and shiitake mushrooms), and cut flowers at low prices. ☆Roadside Station Mutsuzawa Tsudoi no Sato They escaped from Yukigawa Island, a tourist facility in Katsuura City, Chiba Prefecture, and since the 1980s have been selling the meat of muntjac that became wild on the Boso Peninsula. The attached Mutsuzawa Onsen Tsudoi-no-Yu is a natural hot spring that uses locally produced natural gas to heat ancient fossilized seawater called ``kansui,'' which is rich in iodine and lies in the crevices of the earth's strata. There is also an open-air bath, an indoor bath with natural hot spring water, a sauna, and a Ryukyu tatami rest area where you can eat. ☆ Nanoha Agricultural Products Direct Sales Shop This is the most popular direct sales store in Isumi City, which started as an unmanned sales office. You can get local vegetables and flowers at a great price. ☆Ohara fishing port morning market The charm of the morning market at the port is that you can feel the atmosphere of a fishing port and shop while feeling the sea breeze. This is a market where local ingredients gather together, and there are a wide variety of vendors setting up their stalls, with up to over 40 stalls. BBQ, where you can eat what you buy on the spot, is also very popular, and you can also take it home as a souvenir. Held every Sunday from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. ☆Dining Bar Choice Salads made with local vegetables are visually pleasing, colorful, and healthy! This is a popular Italian restaurant. We recommend making reservations by phone. ☆donner Isumi City, Chiba Prefecture, is the place where the sun rises first in Japan and where the sun shines throughout the day. A French restaurant run by a chef and a patisserie chef, located near the Hiari coast where the refreshing sea breeze blows through. I went there for lunch and came back very satisfied. We also sell cakes and bread (confirmation required). ☆Sushi Restaurant Kiridoshi The chef, who was born and raised in Sotobo, is most particular about fresh ingredients delivered directly from the local fishing port. The secret parameter was originally the fishing boat "Showa Maru", which was captained by a friend from his student days. They select the juiciest freshly caught ingredients and make them into delicious raw, grilled, and boiled items. ☆Seasonal cuisine four seasons On the day I went to the store, I was surprised to hear from the proprietress that ``Bananaman has been featured on Gourmet and will be aired on TV.'' Fresh fish sashimi, fried horse mackerel, and simmered fish are recommended. ☆Shiratorimaru We offer a wide range of menus, from gozen meals made with extremely fresh fish to seafood pasta and barbecue sets.
