Great place to stay

The apartment, although not very bright because it is located on the 1st floor, has a lot of charm and character. It is located in the heart of Galata, on a quiet little street. It is close to the metro and tram, hence super convenient. Last but not least: the access to the rooftop on the 6th floor allows a magnificent view of the city :-) We certainly recommend it !

Amazing apartment in amazing location!!

We visited Istanbul knowing nothing about it. This apartment is in the heart of a wonderfully busy tourist area, but on a side street so foot traffic and noises are minimal. The host's communication was superb, and they were super responsive to our few WhatsApp questions (we misplaced the self check-in info) and email (we asked for help using their cab service to make sure we arrived at the airport on time). The streets are a little crazy in that area, and their instructions to us even included a set of Turkish instructions for the taxi driver to help them find the apartment. The apartment has a clothes washing machine and drying rack, comfy beds, and a cozy living room with great WiFi. Very convenient to public transportation - subway is 1 street over, and tram is at the foot of the hill. The outer building door and the apartment doors are keyed entries with solid doors and locks, as you'd expect to find in a city center. Would 110% stay there again.

Fantastic place

Great two bedroom flat. Was met with the property manager and they walked us through the apartment. Great location, lots of good restaurants just below. Only bad side, and nothing to do with this property- but more of Istanbul and water restrictions- is that the water can shut off unexpectedly. It was shut off for about half a day.

Well located and spaciousness

The apartment was just as listed. Comfortable and well located next to the Galata shops and restaurants, public transport. Apartment is well equipped and has everything that is needed. Julia, our host, was very friendly and welcoming. She shared a lot of tips about the places and things to do around the city. Would totally recommend this apartment for families.

Istanbul vacation

This apartment was perfect for our stay in Istanbul. The Galata neighborhood has great restaurants and shops. It is walking distance to the tram to visit the old city. The hosts provided a transit card to which we easily added money to get around the city. We booked our airport transfers through the host, too. Our transfer from the airport was smooth and the host met us at the apartment. Unfortunately, we departed very early in the morning and our transportation did not arrive. We needed to call Uber so that we wouldn't miss our flight. The host refunded the airport transfer fees quickly, which we appreciated. I would definitely recommend this property for families visiting Istanbul!

MISREPRESENTED UNIT

*I PAID for a 6 night stay, but left after 1 night. Air conditioning in bedrooms but NOT THRUOUT APARTMENT. Two portable units that guest required to set up. (discharge hose must be put out a window that remains open all night) We felt UNSAFE sleeping with a window open all night....As a guest, an "on" button is all we expected to press for A/C... It's also important to know that one of the A/C failed after 1 hour operation. It turned out the water bucket was filled. So we had no air conditioning this first night . The bedroom door did not close. If this unit is listed to accommodate more than one person, how do you expect that person to have privacy if they can't close their door. Place is old and unkempt. Furniture is old, saggy and dirty. Electrical outlets loosely hanging out of wall... BTW, I also called VRBO immediately and filed a complaint. In the morning , I asked the owner for a different unit.. He said no, he had no other unit. I packed up and left. He refused to refund my money. The place is a HOVEL. There is nothing in the listing that was accurate. I've traveled for 15 years using VRBO. NEVER have I encountered a place that was so duplicitously misrepresented. VRBO should be ashamed to have this listing on their site. Because of this, I will never use VRBO again. I reached out to the owner many times requesting he refund my money. He refused. Everything in this review is ACCURATE. This is the FIRST TIME I have ever left a bad review.

Galata Perfection

We really enjoyed this apartment and its close proximity to Galata Tower. It is as advertised. Close to transportation to the Old city and a few blocks to Istiklal. The apartment is wonderful. Clean, nicely furnished, and comfortable. Would stay here again.

un’invidiabile posizione, ma con alcuni nei

Della posizione non si può dire nulla: letteralmente a due passi dalla torre di Galata. L’appartamento è al primo piano ed è arredato discretamente, gli spazi sono ben distribuiti e tutt’altro che angusti. NB: la foto di copertina si riferisce alla terrazza che sta al 4^ piano e che è condivisa con altri ospiti del palazzo. Ma veniamo ai punti negativi: - edificio fatiscente, con androne e scale sporchi e mal tenuti; - bagno cieco e senza ventola aspirante; - condizionamento dell’aria possibile solo aprendo un po’ le finestre per far scaricare i condizionatori (uno in ogni stanza principale), soluzione non proprio agevole. Ma soprattutto durante il nostro soggiorno (agosto 2022) vi sono stati dei lavori di rifacimento della facciata (con impalcature esterne) che impediscono non solo l’apertura delle finestre ma costringono addirittura alla chiusura delle tende per tutto il giorno e la notte, causando un profondo senso di claustrofobia. A onor del vero va detto che Tarkan e Julia ci sono venuti incontro con uno sconto, date le nostre comprensibili rimostranze.
